... a young man named Madis went to USA and had funnnnn!
My trip to US was soooo amazing even though i left with 3948 injuries.
- sprained left big toe
- both heels smashed
- both knees smashed
- bruised right hip
- bruised arms
- swellbow from TIC crash
- sprained right index finger
- sunburn on my shoulders and neck
- 9 stiches in my chin
- top of my right ear hurts from TIC crash
- random scratches/bruises everywhere
Five new random tricks learned in the US that Hep Greg asked me to do:
- BS lipstalls on quarters
- pegless toothpick grinds on SR fork (both regular and opposite) over the pyramid at Throgs
- boardstalls to nosebonk to fakies
- footplant barspins on a wallride @ XW
- no handed noseblunt while solving the rubic's cube.
So my trip started early on 4th and went to the airport a bit over 2 hours before the first flight. First flight to Helsinki (Finland) was 30 minutes, the second flight to NY JFK airport was a bit over 8 hours. Smooth. I got a 7-hour jetlag, not bad. NY was a lot hotter and more humid than i expected. It rained a bit but still me, Sanchez and Jon Reyes still rode Throgs skatepark which was the first concrete park i had ever ridden. Throgs is sooo small park, but still fun. We didn't ride there much because there was still some water and made it pretty slippy.
4th of July party and Murphy's house was cooool. They blew up soooo many fireworks and some stuff was sooo noisy. I heard like all the guys together blew up like 1200$ worth fireworks, it was undescribable.
July 5th me, Sanchez, Elmer and Murphy went to TIC. First time i had been there. TIC is one of the best parks i had been to. Murphy went crazy there - 360ed, 180ed and front-scooterflipped up the biggest euro, rode upside down on the full-pipe-corner thingy and eventually did a flair on a bike. Matt Buckle flows soooo good in TIC, i was truly amazed. Me and Elmer tried lots of things, rode that long euro thing for a while.
I got my swellbow in TIC by doing a halfcab out of a fakie and a woodpusher ran into me. That swellbow was huuuuge, everybody thought my arm was broken, but after keeping ice on it for an hour i returned to the park and rode more because i went to TIC to ride, not to sit on the bench.
I sucked in TIC because before that i hadn't really rode for a month due to school graduations and class trip to Berlin until Throgs park the day before but that wasn't much. TIC rats with questions about SR and WEE products were a bit annoying.
July 6th it had rained but rode at the Globe in the evening. Played scoot with Rahmel. He's sooo good at flat scooterflips/bris. Not good at fakies tho, but still amazing. Nigga's got great attitude.
July 7th. The Owl's head jam got announced on the 5th so i found out that i couldn't go to the jam on 15th date. Thanks to Jon Reyes, he took me to the park with bunch of friends to ride that on 7th. Owl's head park is a really good park. Jon got some footage too. Tried also a 11ft gap to a stall on the bench many times but i quit trying that because my heels got all messed up because of the impact. Later that night i cruised at Times Square with Sanchez at night time so all the lights and stuff were amazing.
July 8th. Andrew flew into NYC. Me and Sanchez went to pick him up, Sanchez's friend was driving and he drove soooo bad. He blew his transmission later that night. We cruised in NY and rode some street spots. It was all chill and stuff. Pirate Alex arrived later that night.
July 9th we had a bigger sesh in Throgs, met Greg first time. Everybody was chill and stuff, it was an amazing session till it started to rain. Again, Murphy was fooking crazy. I landed a few new tricks.
Day before we left to XW, on 10th July we all went to Owl's head again. I hardly had ridden any bowls because we dont have any in Estonia. Andrew gave me some tips how to flow in bowls, thanks. It was an amazing sesh till i destroyed myself by doing a transfer from the tranny to the pyramid over the high ledge from right to left. I cleared it from left to right every time but opposite way coming back the same thing destroyed me. My knees were messed up, right index finger got sprained and my chin got demolished so we all went to the nearest hospital and i got myself 9 stiches (2 inside, 7 outside). Being at the hospital was its own adventure since Andrew told me to speak English as sketchy as i can to get free treatment. High feeeev.
I'm sorry for Vince Borelli who came to NYC by train and there was nobody to pick him up at the station because Elmer and Angelo were late because of being in the hospital with me and the rest of the guys. If i were you i would have waited till the sun had set and the last train goes back to home. You went back too early.
Next day, on july 11th we went to XW. Like a 7-8 hour drive. XW sesh was great. Park was pretty nice. Since i was injured, i didn't ride that much. Met a lot of dudes that i've only seen in videos/pictures.
On 12th just before the comp we went to Niagara Falls, it was beautiful. The weather in Buffalo was soo much better than in NYC. I wish i could have seen the Niagara falls on Canada's side, but it was all cool.
XW comp on the same day was soooooooo great. My runs totally sucked because i was a bit injured and not used to the park. Did a few tricks but not much. The XW results are still messed up as there was 17 riders instead of 14 and all i know is that i got more points than Josh Toy, yay, so i didn't came the last. Everybody else were super cool and chill. Matt Buckle, Elmer and Dylan should have entered pro divison. Next year, to avoid that kind of thing, if i was Virginia, i'd have only one division, because riders who think they suck but they really dont, enter intermediate and in aftermath it seems there's no diffirence between the advanced and intermediate divisions. For best trick i tried to stall to the wall next to the big box but i had to approach it in a weird angle and i bailed 2 times. Josh Kish's frontflip dropins were scary. BK's doubleflip attempts were even more scary, he almost snapped his neck on his first attempt. He's amazing. I was also amazed that Buff did a cliffhanger over the small box in best trick comp first try, on MY scooter. Stevon is fooking nuts, flying over the quarterpipes back rail like 10-11 ft to flat. Comp was good and i got sooo many good memories.
13th we drove back to NYC. The trip back to NYC was interesting. No comments.
Brooklyn Banks jam on 14th was soooooo good. Everybody was chill and i saw a lot of hammers being done. The afterjamming, cruising and etc later that day was also amazing. I had tripped into someone at the banks so i sprained my left big toe and i'm still limping. We rode till late and after that i slept a long time.
I left USA on 15th, arrived in Helsinki and Tallinn on 16th.

- Sanchez for hospitality and driving to TIC
- Elmerrrrrr for being the most steeziest mofo in da hood
- Jon Reyes for taking me to the Owl's head park. wha-a-a-a-a-aaat.

- Alex "Steezman" Steadman for being the most chillest dude i've ever met.

- Brian Murhpy for the 4th July party and being the craziest mofo i've ever seen riding.
- Alex Schad for letting us stay at his house night before and after XW.
- everybody else i met in XW and Brooklyn Banks Jam, being so chill and cool.
Americans are not europeans - they are all diffirent, chill and friendly. Loved it.
Can't wait to ride/chill with you guys again, hopefully soon
PS! Matt McKeen has my shoulder-strap of my bag.
Me and Alex Steezman at the Globe.
