ITS NOT REAL.
people only think its real because of how there was no music/few special effects/tons of actors. it was made in ONE week, and costed $11,000. thats like nothing for a movie. it was really hyped up because at first it was only released in select theatres in PA. once it got a million views, paramount agreed to show it in theatres nationwide. the setting is the director's home. the character's names are their real names. the movie was made because the director heard noises and such in his home and got scared. he decided to make a movie out of it. they TRIED to make it look homemade. anybody here see the blair witch theory? same concept.

joe rileys right.
it was actually made in 2007 for a film festival. it was filmed in 7 days on a budget of $15000 (but they only used $11000)

if you believe in paranormal stuff like possession and all that, i guess the idea behind the movie is creepy. but the movie itself showed it in the gayest way ever. it sucks. dont waste your money, wait for it to come out on dvd, talk a stupid friend into buying it and watch it :p

if you understand it its scary if you realize how real it is you will probly shit yourself
its creapy not scary
There is no story behind the movie and it is not based on true events. The guy that made it got the idea because a box of detergent fell off a shelf in his closet, but the way the box was positioned on the shelf it would not have fell (its on the IMDB for the movie).

Movie is way overhyped. Pretty sure the hype for the movie was paid for by the companies that made it.

Spoilers

I think the original ending was better than the theater ending. The movie seems kinda realistic IMO until the ending when she jumps at the camera and shit. The original ending where she gets killed by the cops is 100% possible and goes with the story so much more to me because the scene earlier where she goes outback, its pretty much the same thing happening again but so much more extreme.

I really don't know how this movie made it to the theater, although I admit I did enjoy it, but would never watch it again and would never pay money to see it. If you buy this on DVD your a totally jitbag.

btw katie is fucking gross, loose some weight bitch

What Brian said. I wanted to be scared so bad when I went to see it.....but it just didn't happen. Total let down...I think you literally need to go into the theatre in the right mood for this movie for it to actually scare you.

ahh

Or when you are home alone, by urself wathing it on your couch. Like I am now. I am scared shitless right now. i do not want to walk upstairs or ne where for tht matter.

The only reason i think it is scary is because im making my body try to think that it is real. I like watching scary --------------- and rule out the whole thing tht it is all fake. And i do believ in ghosts and all that shit so it is even more scary.

I would have been scared if i had never heard a single thing about the movie except the title and thats it. I think then it would have not even lived up to the hype it is getting. Grown men in my classes said they lost sleep over this, after seeing it I now view them as big ass pussies.
