I got this thing finished. Its all Aluminum and the bar under the deck is solid. It only weighs a little bit more than my promodel deck that was reinforced with 3/4in by 1/8in aluminum.

Here are the pictures:

Remember, this just a prototype. There are still some things to be worked out. We have a different design but havent been able to build it yet. We are planning on selling these eventually along with other parts aswell.

That one hole doesnt have a screw in it because my tap broke inside of it. Those hex head screws are very grippy on shoes and act as deck pins, but wont tear up your fingers if you miss a fingerwhip.

Feel free to ask questions and comments are appreiciated.

that looks gnar, but i think it would be better if you made all the corners rounded to save your hands fingerwhipping :]

Yeah, I know. I wanted to keep them square because if I wanted to change the design, I wouldnt have to get a new peice of metal.

Great work!

I'm not a master in prototypes, but I love this ideas!

Of course my first question is about weight.

sick man, props to the idea, but i think the aluminium at the side will bend easily. my favourite home deck so far very simple

The sheet on top that goes past the bar under? I was thinking that also but it hasnt yet or shone signs of doing so. And thanks, I was going for the simplest design possible without the need of welding. I have another design thats a bit more complex but it will be stronger and there wont be Aluminum sheet sticking out to cut through your ankles or finger in fingerwhips.

D= its sam!!

Nice, but i'd still look into something that doesn't have bolts on top of the deck.

They are screws, and they are really grippy and act as deck pins. I like them but others mite not. My next design has no need for those screws but I still need to get the materials.

i wouldnt want it it has all those sharp egdes so wehn u wreck or hit urself w./ the deck ur SCREWED, but if i didnt hit urself w. the deck i would like it, is it strong

Why not get some flathead screws and counter sink them or whatever so they dont stick up, then grip over them. You wouldnt even know there there.
