i was also gonna say take a flat head and pry it, similar to tonys idea

Place the deck on something that is elevated such as stairs so that just the fork and headtube is hanging off the edge of whatever it is. At this point the deck should be touching the ground and the fork should not be. Have someone stand on the deck and take a piece of wood or rubber mallet and smack the shit out of the top of the fork tube. If it's not coming out, your not hitting hard enough. This method has always worked for me with no problems. If this doesn't make sense then sorry. Explained it the best I could.

To hit the top of the fork tube with so it doesn't damage it.

just smack it with a hammer. a real hammer.

That's what i did when my FSA top thing was stuck. Just smacked it hard with a hammer.

or you can pry the ring off by getting the screwdriver under it and prying it out evenly so it doesn't snap.

ok my phorx did the smae thing even though it has nothing to do with the phorx. just place a rag over the fork. put the deck on a lege or something and just hit it with a rubber mallet or a hammer.. it will eventually start sliding out
