play in bearings?

yeah i am positive, i have the original spoked proto wheels where the part of the core where the bearing goes was machined with too big of an inner diameter so i have to use tape anyways but my bearings are in the wheel very tight now...

It's happened to me, sometimes the bearing cage is just so over worked it starts grinding away, which is why oiling is so important.

sometimes they just pop out/ovalize too

yeah i always use bones speed cream after i clean them allthough that isnt very often and i have had them a while so that pretty much explains it. glad to know i'm not the only person who has had this happen though.

so do you just replace them when this happens or is there some way to fix it? i notice that when you posted up most of your scooters a while back you said that they were silent when you dropped them allthough mine is making a rattle which i am pretty sure is coming from the bearings. do yours make that noise when they develope play? the rest of my scooter is completely dialed (integrated headset, scs, flexfender) so i assume thats what it has to be...

Could be the axle is smaller than the inner diameter of the bearing so your feeling the whole bearing wobbling on the axle

I actually looked at some of my old bearings that I used for a while, and I held the inner race and moved the rest of the bearing to the side. They had play in them, but I didn't notice it when I was riding

get like headset grease of some type of grease pop the caps off the bearings and start packing as much grease u can in the bearings then when down put the caps back on and there good as new, fast and super smooth rolling to...works for me every time!!
