VOTM i dont think should be considered yet. Lets see how COTM works out first. And i like how they will be judged...should be interesting.

Yeah I'm down for COTW, I don't think it should even be 30 seconds unless it's something real long like a manny or hang five. I'm guessing lines count?

i still think potw ect shouldnt be posted as news items. they should be posted in like a box that stays in the top left corner and the photo in it just changes each week. it saves having heaps of photos on the front page.

That would be a good idea Jake, I'll see what can be done.

What if it was:

- One Rider
- 3 clips (individual tricks or lines) not exceeding 30 seconds
- No editing allowed except slo-mo and their name

To quote my idea forward..

A themed clip of the week would be awesome.
Themes could include...
Obstacle.
Trick.
Street/Park.
Switch.
Style.
And many, many more.
Definately Clip > Video.

A theme to the clip would be much better.
As with a blanket clip, riders that aren't as good as others stand no chance.
Whereas if there is a theme like tech, trick, location, riders that may not be as good as others have a chance as well.

For example.
COTW #1 - Theme : Start COTW with a 'bang'.
Just my idea :)

I like Aarons idea a lot.

Each week, different obstacle. Quarter, Bank, Lip, Flat, Rail, Flat rail, manny pad, Stair set. So on and so forth...lots of different choices for each week. And it def. gives different riders a chance to shine.

Could incorporate tricks and spots. One week could be pyramids then the next week could tailwhips then the next week could be tailwhips only on pyramids. And by tailwhips I mean that the combos you do over a pyramid just have to somehow incorporate a whip so really anything could go as long as it had a whip.

if it was me doing it, i wouldn't want to do any type of themes lol. i'm just lazy and wouldn't want to try to think of one every week.

I'm quite happy to help you out if you'd like me to.

Would voting work the same as potw?
Open a thread here with all of the clips, and then have mods/admins vote?

I'm down for running it if no one else wants to.
I was just thinking too.
For the clips, would they need to upload it to vimeo/youtube password protected, so no one else could see, or what would the deal be with that?
Lets get this sorted / started

Ideally (for me):

-30 Second Max.
-3 clip Max.
-No song
-Winner picked based on trick difficulty and originality, as well as video quality.
-No theme (can be added, but like no matter how it works I just don't like the idea of themes)

(Bold'd things show you don't have to "be the best" to win. 2/3 of what goes into being the winner is being original and the quality of video.)

I think as far as quality goes, it should only be points deducted for bad quality. Cause when I upload videos it's pretty good quality, but I don't have the means that someone with like a really good camera/editing program does.

Yeah, it's not like there is going to be a point system haha. These are just the things that each mod/admin would consider when they vote for who they believe to have the best clip.
