i made these last summer out of aluminum, but when i first made them i didnt have gussets so they bent. so then i heated them up and bent them back as straight as i could [could have straightened them better] and then i put steel square tubing inside the crossbar and welded gussets on the bars. i sold them to my friend and they are still going strong. they took about 3 days to make. they were decently light for being aluminum and pretty strong with the steel insert and gussets. and they still haven't bent. im just wondering what you guys think about the strength and design of these bars.
