Oh christ the things teenagers say sometimes. Wow.
First of all, Lil Wayne having talent? EHH? He is EXACTLY like the rest of the 'rap' scene these days. "THIS IS ALL THE CRAP I GOT AND IMA SING BOUT IT TO A SIMPLE TUNE WITH LOTS OF BASS, 5 DIFFERENT NOTES MAX AND SOME SORT OF CATCHY SOUND LOOPING OVER AND OVER". He is literally no better than Soulja Boi or however you spell it.
While I'm hating, RISE AGAINST, LIVING END, GREEN DAY, FALLOUT BOY, PANIC AT THE DISCO. There's another really bloody annoying band that's popular at the moment but I can't think of it. They all get on my nerves, bleh.
Now I understand everyone creams their pants when it comes to Blink-182 and I'm yet to figure out why but I'm not into vocals that actually harness male singing talent... so to speak. Sue me lol. Alsoooo from what I've experienced they sound pretty much like any other punk rock band.
The Faction however, back in the early 80s, are a punk sound I enjoy. The song "Skate And Destroy" has the right sound, the right lyrics and the right idea behind it for me to enjoy it.
Another song (completely unrelated to punk but more on the topic of TALENT) is Yurima - River Flows In You. This song is pure talent. It has no vocals, it is simply a piece played on piano. I love this song. It reminds me of the happiest times of my life. THAT is what music is about.
