try telling a bmxer theres no point in buying light parts
try telling sports car manufactures wieght shouldnt be an issue when they could make it stronger by putting solid steel beams everywhere.
try telling people that they dont need a car good on fuel money, because by spending more it makes the car better

what your saying doesnt make sense, when selling a product, you need advantages in all areas, thats how all the best selling products are made
good price, good wieght, good strength, all important. simple.
Thats not what I meant. Do you think the companies set out to make heavy or weak parts?
No, they try there best to make parts that are strong enough but not to heavy. All, I'm saying
is that people need to man up and stop bitching about weight and prices. Not everything is
perfect you know...........

Great thread. From a slightly different standpoint (us being a manufacturer- although this applies to all the aftermarket companies that exist) you also have to take into account the research, time, development, labor, testing, etc. etc. Most companies aim to provide a product or service that is best tailored to the maximum amount of consumers- and in reality people's preferences are so different that there is no single product/answer that will suit every person. Thus variations are made and for the most part the simplest and most common features will be the ones that will go into final production.

If any company were to create a "perfect" product it would in effect cost you more. A "perfect" product would eliminate all customization or modification and consumers would be subject to whatever price said company suggested, reasonable or not.

i think people have more of a problem with shipping rates rather then actual prices cause they can be a bitch internationally

i agree with the wieght though, i myself am bit of a wieght freak, i like stock scooters but it really isnt that hard to adjust from stock to aftermarket and people really do need to stop complaining about it
just shut up and ride, who cares if its 2 pounds heavier, its also 1000X stronger

i just ordered the yak low profiles of SR and the wheels are $8 while the shipping is $12. Also, i'm not a rich mothafucka like most people on here.
So personally, i'd think i wouldn't want my shipping costs to be more than my product i am purchasing.

Glad to hear people are agreeing! !lol

As for Johns bars, he should sell them. He'd make a bit of money & also
help out the scooter community.

you get use to weight i love heavy scooters i was holding margret's scooter last night she wouldn't let me ride it but it felt too light for me atleast but her scooter was dialed it felt like going from a down hill bike to a cross country bike

yeah i agree with murphy. i love heavy scooters for some reason haha. it makes me feel like i have more control of the scooter then i would with a light scooter. idk it just doesnt really bother me

i took off my buffs and rode stock because it felt so much better, i learned nose late bars flat and in the same day did them to fakie and everything else, same with double whips, i learnt half cab double when i took them off

but ya i could see how some people would prefer a heavier scooter

Having a heavier scooter feels like i dont have to worry about breaking something and almost killing myself. Then picking up a stock pro makes me wanna cry because it is so light and flimsy.

I agree with everything Jon.
Light and weak < Hefty and strong.

No,

Light (if desighned good) Strong < heavy and sometimes strong. take2 forks are light and there STRONG!!! there are alot of light and strong products, like Take2's, T.S.I. renegade, french id bars, and eagle spoked. just to name a few. aluminum is the wayto go if desighned properly.
