Progression

So.. I've been riding scooters for probably already 2.5years. It took me probably 6 months if not a year to land my first tailwhip then I learnt 360s not long later. Now , for more than a year I've been landing only single whips , 360s , barspins and that's about it. I learnt tables a few months ago though. K so I ride badly.

I'm 15 and I see kids much younger than me in videos doing much better stuff and they've been riding for a much lesser time than me. Now , I don't ride everyday anymore. I love going to skateparks but that's only once every few weeks. I feel like an idiot to be honest lol. Why do you guys think I don't land new tricks? I just got to grow some balls?

How often in general do you land new tricks?

This is pretty much my story too. I guess it happens to isolated riders. It's difficult to ride alone but when you're isolated like that, you have zero confidence to try things (as 'I won't be able to do that trick because I can't/Im not a pro from US/etc'). You just gotta stop being geographically challenged and feel a part of the worldwide scooter community to believe that you're a rider with as much potential to progress as everyone. You have got the biggest skatepark in the world, for God's sake!

the kids that are younger than you and better than you are usually the kids that are able to go to skate parks everyday and ride with someone who is a lot better than them. tell you the truth i just kinda flow around now adays because i dont egt to ride with anyone who is going to push me to get better and i just want to make my riding as stylish as possible since its hard to get that perfect style i personally think its harder to get a good style and flow than just doing big tricks, also because i only get to ride only once in a while. but when someone like mark ripoll comes up and i get to ride with him i go all out and land a lot of new tricks. just remember why u started riding in the first place it should be because u just wanted to have fun. :)

I only go to the parks once every few weeks now but during these times ,sometimes I'm thinking of things I could do. Finally when I go to the park , I gather a lot of different ideas but often I could leave without doing any. I have had thoughts of whipping this hip thing for a long time but everytime I'm there ,I usually end up doing something else and don't even try whipping it , telling myself I've not enough balls. When you guys try stuff first time , are you comfortable with it? I only learn tricks which I'm comfortable doing ,and maybe thats why I don't learn anything because I'll never be comfy with it until I ride it over and over.

for me its kind of a "if i think about it.. im doing it" or a "no bitchassness" appraoch.
haha
i dont really roll up to things anymore.
if i wanna try it i just say "okay i know if i dont do this ill think all niight about doing it"
and i just say it will only last a little bit.

as far as riding i think some people are bulit with it.
i mean i know people that will step on a scooter and destroy. and some that have trouble with easy thigns.
its also motivation.
i yella and push all my friends into doing tricks. if they want to or not.

just have fun riding and be compturble with how you ride.

The more you think the less likely you will do it, i try and do something new each time i ride not necisarialy a trick but a new line or what ever.

^^ Don't worry , I don't take it offensive.. I don't get why so many people can do things like that. Something in Australian and American food. Lol I was '' .... '' with the first meal I had in the US. Some mexican restaurant in San Francisco lol. You guys eat a lot.

everyone learns at there own pace

just ride and have fun

almost everyone will reach a time period where the new tricks they want are too hard and they get "stuck" but after riding more and getting your old tricks dialed the new ones will seem easy
