daniel barrett, myself, and 2 skaters and 2 bikers from bucks county pennsylvania are designing the bucks county skatepark which will hopefully be starting construction this summer. what i need is ideas. we already have some ideas of a park but seeing as how everyone is always looking foward to riding new setups and such, i figure if yous would like to help then why not. just use your imagination to think of something youd like to ride and might actually come to our park and ride it. but be reasonable (sorry no dc mega ramp).

were working with an apporximate 75x300ft area so any idea will help and be much appriciated. also any pics of 3d models/sketches will also be very valuable to represent to our county council.

please be a part of this and make this happen. and last thing, it may be somewhat short notice but pleeeeaase try and have most idea and stuff either posted on here or sent to me at fly1016@gmail.com by wednesday.

thank you all and wish us luck!

foam pit is a little outside a county parks budget.

id say some banks, some good hips, and overall flow.

*2-3 ft. flybox (one curved, one straight)
bank to wallride(doesn't have to be much or a bank, or a wall)
*grind boxes
*hubba ledge
small bowl, or at least a miniramp with a small vert wall
rails
one table/bench
and a must have-3 or 4 stairstep with a handrail

*=can be substituted for a pyramid with a ledge

75x300 is really really big that is like a football field. Anyways, I'd be down to help but I need to know if they are doing wood, metal or concrete because it is only really worth designing certain features with the right material. PM me or something and we can talk.

Street.

Why does everyone always say foam pits? Foam gets really old really fast, old to ride and old as in it gets crappy.

What's this park gonna be made out of?

Yeah there building on the foundation of an old library i think, its huge.. Im not 100% sure but i think that its concrete.

u need a good fly box, with a nice qp lined up with it, a good spine with a pyramid next to it for super sexy transfers, maybe some wooden hitching posts so they are easy to stall on, wallride, and a fat bald guy to sit there and let all the scooty riders in.

everything has to flow for lines and such

personal ramps i like to see are fly boxes with qp style take offs and less angled landings , spines, and off course a huge smooth wall about 1/2 a foot behind a 4-6' quarter pipe

how all you need to do is build four walls, a kicker up to it, and buy some foam. simple.

foam isnt to cheap. think of how many blocks are in it. its also outdoors and public, so whos going to cover it up when it rains or at night? you also need a roll in. its stupid to have a foam pit outside unless it gets covered up. plus you need new foam everyonce in a while, so thats alot of maintanence. plus i mean a foam pit is limited risk, but its also a big liability thing also. because if its small and cheap you know some stupid kid will try and flip into it and go over it or off to the side. also most foam pits at parks have walls on one or more sides so theres less chance of someone jumping out of it. and foam pits are supervised at parks, if they just had one at a public parks, a bunch of kids would just sit in it.

im never gonna ride this but if it's indoor and wood i'd love to see one of those ramps that goes all the way up to the roof (don't leave any space for someone to stand at the top KC might go there one day)

^^haha.not funny.
well, if they can't afford foam, then they probably can't afford a professionally built bowl, so that's pretty much out of the question, imo

to answer the question about it, yes the foundation is already there and its concrete.

the actual ramps and such will be made of concrete as we begin for the outdoor section until we get the donation money to build the building. inside there will be either custom wood ramps (depending on the budget) or woodwards prefab line of ramps and setups.

as of now we arent doing bowls because of the amount of work and material it will take, which we just dont have.

we also dont want it to be like every other park. we want something original that people will ride everyday. were also looking more in the street type skate plaza designs as with some small quater and hip features with wallrides and sub boxes and such.

as far as i am concerned with the foam pit, we probably wont build one unless someone wants one that bad then they can make it and we will hapily keep it at the park for everyone to ride
