grenades are GOOD
pro's:
they look mad IMO
theyve got good hard to thread/round bolts
theyre relatively cheap

cons:
they dont work with oversized bars
they cant be streched because of theyre round shape
the top cap bends if you overtighten it

i love mine, get one.

your real question - "how do scs' work"

think about how the compression works. it pulls the forks up, whilst pressing down on the headset (to "compress"). now it wont be able to do this if the fork is too long, as the fork will stick up above the compression ring ledge, thus not "compressing". the length your fork steerer tube needs to be is dependent on your fork, headset, deck and SCS so you have to see if it needs cutting down.
the other way to do it is to use spacers below the SCS to virtually reduce the length of the steerer tube. but everyone knows spacers look shit.

and please search the forum before asking questions as this has been answered before my me and im sure a million times before i was even a member

god i sound like a know it all prick, please know that im just a geek :)

Can you elaborate on this?

I was trying to help a kid this weekend that had a loose set up:

I was able to stretch the clamp by putting a piece of metal in the slot and then putting the Bolt in through the other side- forcing the clamp to stretch open to get the bars out of the Clamp.

I then tightened the Top Cap bolt but in about 5 mins of riding the Forks had twisted again. (I didn't have any Locktite on me)

**Tightening the Top Cap bolt too tight prevented the Forks from spinning**

I think he had Epic forks but don't recall seeing a spacer and wonder if this is causing problems??

i have epic forks and a phoenix smooth scs and i had to cut my forks just a little bit.
imo i would get any other scs, the grenade is probably the ugliest, dumbest looking scooter part on the market. ive never seen it look good on any scooter.
