The width doesn't really have to do with how a deck whips. It's more a combination of the headtube angle in combination with the weight distribution of the deck. I've had an ultra pro, district v2, district v2i, envy, 2 nitros, a 4.5 standard phoenix, a 4.65 reventon, and the proto, IMO the nitro and the proto feel the best. I like a little weight in the back, it gives you a really nice responsive feel when you whip, my standard phoenix was nice and all, but it's got weight in the front, but a light back end, doing like triples and stuff felt weird, i feel like i have more control with a little bit of weight, the proto and nitros are the most balanced for me at least
