Quad Clamp Compression???

my friend said today that you can get a defiant quad clamp and weld a shim to the bottom 2 bolts(on inside) than clamp it to your fork. put the top cap and bolt and tighten it. then slide in your bars. then boom your done. is this true>

yes it works, there is 1746585 threads on this. The only difference I see with this one is that you're welding the shim on, which is unnecessary anyways.

You don't have to weld the shim though. You can just put it in. Because the clamp would hold it tight. CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG.
