Hey guys I was wondering for oversized steal bars do you really need compression cuz like for ex the inward VIC bars are oversized and if you order them hic will they be compatible with threaded forks and if not then if I order them scs and then cut my own slit will it work? Same with the new lucky PRY bars I'm just asking cuz my oversized lucky alu bars came without a slit so I cut one and it worked threaded

What do you mean? All a slit is, is a cut with a hole at the top. So I would hope you can cut your own. Rewrite your post for better understanding. Thanks.

Oversized bars are made for either HIC of SCS compression. If you clamp them enough, they'll fit threaded compression, but they'll be crooked, and you'll notice that they're crooked when you spin your bars stationary. My bars are kinda like that.

Also, HIC will work with a threaded fork (although it's pointless unless the only bars that you have are oversized and you don't want to buy a new fork). Just put a star nut in the fork and put the shim on it. You'll need a new headset though if you don't already have a thread-less one.

Also, If you put them in SCS, then you will need to get rid of the slit. Depending on how deep you cut the slit, you can just cut 2 inches off the bottom of your bars and hopefully it'll get rid of 90% of the slit or more. Then your bars will be the same height as before once you put them in SCS. If you still have a decent sized slit once you cut 2 inches off, you can find some tubing to use as a shim to stick into your bars.

I'm hoping I answered all your questions.

Well I wasn't really asking how to cut a slit and so yeah I think that my question is answered cuz when I used my last oversized bars with threaded forks they got a bit crooked so I'll just assume that if I get steel oversized bars And cut myself a slit in them then it will work right? Cuz that's just my question brandon I got a tad bit confused halfway down ur post haha thanks tho I'll try and figure out what ur saying

Edit: oh okay I see what u were saying and I didn't mean that I was gunna use scs cuz I'm too poor for that haha but yes when I mentioned scs I meant just ordering it in scs and cutting my own slit
