what format should i save to? (RAW, jpg, etc...)
when i have my pictures what size should i save to? (small, medium, big, etc...)

i want to save space on my computer and stuff and dont know what settings i should save in

I got myself banned.
I'd personally just shoot in JPG to start. As your start to learn more about photos and editing maybe switch to raw so you can edit your photos better.

Raw takes up shitloads of space
but it allows editing without loss of original data or quality.
I shoot both depending on if the picture im doing/composing is gonna turn out good or not

it is better to have the maximum quality (raw and the largest picture size) in case you need to crop, print, or just generally edit your photo but its your call
i know your not too serious about it so youll probobly be satisfied with the jpeg small setting

I own SR.
You can set your Nikon to shoot a dual image. RAW (NEF) and a jpeg small. You can't take as many photos per card though since you are saving 2 images per shot but it gives you a lot more options when it comes time to preview, upload or edit.
