Rawing SCS (Oven Cleaner)

I took all of the stickers off my bars, but I went at them with scissors to get them off, leaving a shitload of scratches. I sanded it down with some spare griptape, and it looked great. I tried sanding my Proto SCS, and It didnt come off very easily (Its still pretty much black, just the front is like silver and faded black). What kind of oven cleaner should I use, and where can I get it? If there is something from home depot that would be preferred.

Thanks everyone, and sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Its going to look like fucking shit if you sanded it before you oven clean-ered it.

Use Easy-Off oven cleaner... the stuff in the yellow spray can.
Spray it on leave it sit for 15 minutes, rinse it off. Then scrub it with Scotchbrite or steel wool. If there is any color remaining, spray it again and let it set for another 5 minutes. Then rinse, scrub with 3M Scotch-Brite or steel wool again and you're done.

...Then whats the point of using oven cleaner?

Because I sanded it for like half an hour straight, and Basically nothing came off, It just looks like shit.

Ill sand after I use oven cleaner to make it look nice.

Thanks everyone, Close thread.

Over cleaner is definitely the way to go.
I did a whole entire deck in half an hour.
Don't be afraid to spray heaps on then use steel wool and buy some Brasso-polish works amazing.

Take care not to get too much oven cleaner in the threads of the scs, it can eat away at them at weaken them so they strip when you tighten it later on.

Right...the oven cleaner will eat right through aluminum if it sits long enough.
All you need to do is spray it on, let it set for 10min, rinse off with water and scrub with steel wool. There will still be some color left on it, so spray it with over cleaner and leave it sit for 5 more minutes. Then rinse thoroughly and do a final polish with steel wool.
Should take 20 minutes start to finish.
