Not sure, when i was watching live right before he was about to jump it failed on me... When i refreshed and started working he was at about :30 into the freefall.

Somebody went up in an air balloon like fourty years ago and did the same thing AND broke the sound barrier. and he was completely fine even after tumbling around and stuff too. This is still really awesome though.

The live broadcast was sooo much better. You could see him tubling from that angle and it was hella scary.

And yeah Tyler it was Joe Kittenger in 1960. He was the guy talking to Felix on the radio the whole time. He fell for 4 minutes 30 seconds, and Felix only fell 4 minutes 14 seconds I think. Bummer,

No. It was joseph kittinger II and it was 2 miles lower and he didn't break the sound barrier.

^ Haha exactly, Kittinger was the head communicator with Baumgartner that whole time, it was pretty sick I watched from a hour into the ascent until the end, when he first jumped off the capsule I almost shit myself it was insane just watching him plummet from that thing so fast
