removing headset trouble

i was trying to replace my fork, and i got stuck when the top cap of my headset wouldnt budge, like it would un screw a little bit of the way, then it would get stuck, i put tons of wd 40 on it and it didnt help. suggestions?

just chuck the wheel in a vice and wrench the shit out of it with a shifter. Worked for me...

once i got it up a little and i got pissed so i hacksawed it right under the locknuts and puled itout like that
