Repeated/bumped threads.

As i've been browsing i've been noticing some mildly redundant things

1: a thread is bumped, and everyone hops on the bumpers' ass for bumping it.

2: a thread is repeated, everyone hops on the repeatee's ass, for repeating said thread

Repeated and yelled at is fine, as most of it is simple questions like "how do i lock my foldy help plz." but if a noob searches around, finds the topic they were going to make, and bumps it with their reply, what's the point of telling them to search? they can't express their opinion without getting bitched at by people.
what if it's a poll question THEY were going to repeat? then they'd get yelled at. but if they bump/repeat the thread, they get yelled at anyway/told to search. do you see what im getting at?

i know about the bandwith problems, and the problems with repeat threads, but yelling at repeated threads is one thing, but if the bandwith is already taken up by an old thread, wouldn't bumping it do no harm?

i just don't see the point in telling someone to search, when if they find what they were looking for DOES exist, they can't respond to it ANYWAY.

Discuss.

i dont see whats so bad about bumping a thread if the post is usefull or relevent or whatever. bumping a thread is better than making a new one. also, search is incredibly hard to use, especially if you new or dont know the exact thread your looking for

I got myself banned.
this is exactly what i talked about in some rant thread of mine a while ago

a noob comes and actually searches like he's supposed to, and he get's 10+ threads with other noobs asking the same question and 10 other replies saying
SEARCH NOOB SEARCH NOOB

another kid replies to one of these threads and bumps it

STOP BUMPING NOOB

honestly i think if we just created certain threads for all sorts of needs and deleted ALLL the useless threads and shit that are 2 years old it would clean alot more stuff up

fix up the PM systems, and when a noob posts a new thread, delete the thread, PM him the link to the megathread, and bam. problem solved.

honestly all you mods have the power to delete threads and shit but i still see like 50+ pages of WORTHLESS threads sitting in alot of sections

do something about it if you have the power to
