Ride what you want

I'm just voicing my opinion, which I believe really needs to be heard. Is it just me, or is this whole "fuck park, street only" thing getting on anyone's nerves? It's making me sick to my fucking stomach. People are telling me that people shouldn't be riding park at all. It makes no sense to me why street is "better" or how anything can be "better". Any good rider can shred both park, and street. Riders need to be balanced with both. I don't like to see an all street video, but that doesn't mean that I like to see an all park video. Ride whatever the hell you want. If that happens to be street, then so be it. If it's park, then the same to you. Just don't listen to everyone telling you to ride street only. I'm way bigger fans of people who ride both, than one who rides just one. Stop following the "park sucks" trend. I want to know what you guys think about it.

It builds unique riding. I myself only like to see street riding now because I'm fucking sick of how many people just ride halfpipes. Street has a lot of vareity(SP?) in it. I don't force it onto people but I just remind them that if you have all spine jumps, flyout and 540 airs in an edit you'll be sure to get some negative reviews.
Park riding is really annoying in my eyes cause it is consuming most of the sport, making everyone think we just crowd parks and snake.
Street riding is a ton of fun and looks SICK when it's properly filmed. Street is also what brings people to see the sport for how it compares to say skateboarding. Showing that it too can actually give an image close to street BMX or something like that. And really we are in dire need of more people in this sport because of how many people who are against us riding in parks, getting absolutely 'bullied' in public and anywhere we can be seen.

And honestly, what would you rather watch?

Matt Mckeen - Dream Team Supreme
or
Tyler Bonner - Welcome to MADDGEAR

well that cant be justified properly because they are two different riders with different filmers, editors, styles, etc.

its just like those videos on youtube that say like "M3tALLicA vs SLIPknoT WHICH IS betTer????!!?!" it doesnt fit

No, I'm talking about style of video. would you rather watch a skateboarding style filmed street edit or a park edit filmed the way most park edits are now?

Edit: To michael chavez

Well of course good street riding is better than bad park riding. When you're comparing good street riding to good park riding, there is no comparison.

i hate it when good park riders start riding street cause they think its cooler, i don't like park riding personally because i feel like it gives more of a strait path to follow, and is much more repetitive, but so can street riding, there is a place for both in the sport, i love watching creative park riding, i think the reason park riding gets so much hate from the street side of the sport is because of kids just doing trick after trick after trick and it all looks the same, and is just bland, even though its solid riding, its just another park video, and you'll probably see a hundred more just like it that year, but the same can be said about street, but with park i think its more so.

Put it this way. We ride scooters to have fun. Other people can't understand that and get an elitist mentality because they skate/bike/whatever and we scooter. We tell them that we don't give a fuck if they think we're cool, because we ride for fun. Well, are we any better if we start tearing our own community apart, and getting condescending towards other riders because we ride different terrain? It's the same thing. Ride what you want.

Yeah I've given up on what riders think is the "best terrain to watch/ride" so I say fuck you, I'm riding and filming park and if you don't like it fellate me.

I personally can't stand street videos or riding street (aside from gay local spots if i'm bored enough). There's very few good/impressive street riders (Mckeen, Kvilhaug) compared to the thousands trendy little idiots who're like "PARK IS GAAY LETS GO RIDE THAT 5 SET INSTEAD WOOO0O0O0" and suck bawls. I honestly think the hating park thing is a gay trend that is sweeping across all sports and is now hitting scooters like an asteroid from hell.

I'd prefer to watch a video from Dan Holm over any street video.

I just dont give a fuck what people in the scooter community say anymore.

Too much bitching and complaining and people thinking theyre better than everyone.

I agree with the thread though. People need to shut up and ride. All the little scooter kids around me never get any better cause they spend more time complaining than riding.

And probably because they TRADE new parts so often that they never ride a setup long enough to actually get comfortable on it ;)

Fixed.
They literally walk into the park, check out eachothers set up and start trading. Its like a scooter part prostitution ring.

I like park alot more because i think that it is more fun cuz you can get heaps of sir when airing a quarter or halpipe and because of all the ramps and been able to use them to do heaps of tricks.
