^I only think that people should be putting more effort into their photos just like people work really hard on their videos.
Nowadays, the good videos within the video gallery are the ones that are well-filmed, and have gnarly tricks.
Why can't these photos be well-photographed and have gnarly tricks?
Whenever I go out and get photos, and Im looking at a shot my friend took of me, I like to think to myself "If someone were to post this on Facebook or SR or whatever, would I stand behind it and be stoked to show it off? Or would I be embarrassed to have others see it because it was a sight for sore eyes?" I want to make sure that the trick im doing looks perfect in the frame, or is clicked properly, etc.
The same thing goes for the person taking the photo. Your job is to make the rider look awesome. You want people to view the photo and be like "Holy shit this looks like it could go on the front of a magazine." I wouldn't want to represent myself as a photographer if I release some poorly-lit, off center, blurry, over/under exposed photographs.
So the bottom line is:
Riders - Do you want a photo of you that looks like ad/mag cover quality, or a blurry video grab of a trick you threw first try?
Photographers - Take something you are proud of and makes your subject look epic in the frame. If you do, you will honestly feel just as good as you would after finishing the filming and editing for a 4 minute web edit. The reward feels the exact same.
I am not mad at anyone. Just protesting haha.
