ok, well my friend has gotten used riding his fork backwards, and he rekons that it makes barspins, scooter fakies, spin tricks (360's etc) and some other tricks easier?

has anyone else tried this? and would riding your fork backwards make it weaker?

frenchies and other europeans do it a lot. idk about making those tricks easier, but it makes nose mannys tons easier. dunno about making it weaker though, i have no idea.

Well i think it makes barspins easier... and as it makes cornering easier- so i would have thoght spin tricks would be easier, if you turn into them as you do them.

does anyone else ride with their fork backwards?

Well it essentially makes the wheelbase shorter, so that would make it easier to spin. I don't think it'd be that noticeable, just ride with your fork normal. It would also make it so you'd flip over a lot more easily, like if you land too far forward or something. And it doesn't make barspins easier, unless your doing the ones where you go slow and just spin the bars on the ground.

... Jake, tbh it doesnt make that much difference what they look like..

and Alex, your right, but the reason i find it easier is i do jump but i havent learnt to catch them yet.

and dont go challenging this post, everyones allowed their own opinion

Riding with the fork backwards is stupid unless it helps you with nose manuals. The fork offset helps you to balance, notice how it's only possible to ride no handed with the fork facing forwards. While it's easy to ride with the fork backwards normally, I guess that it might make the landings harder. Conclusion: don't ride with your bars backwards.

I don't think it helps at all. I was practicing nose manuals the other night, getting 10 feet easy with it forwards. I tried backwards and just kept going over. I guess I think it makes it harder, but maybe that is because I found my sweet spot for nose manuals.

the ONLY thing that it makes easier is footjams. That's about it. It's shitty for everything else really...

i started rideing my forks backwards when i was learning nose manuals, now i have learnt nose manuals i have gotten used to rideing my forks backwards and ride em like that all the time

The Reason the SWISS riders do it and some french riders do it is because i was told tht eric rabl said it makes the micro reinforced fork even stronger ?

That's true, I turn them around for footjams. I should just learn vader jams and it'd be all good.
ehh I guess I do vader jams then (didn't know they had their own name, wtf?), so it's all good. They are considerably more annoying though and harder to get consistent..
