I'm planning on getting a fixed gear bike sometime soon, but I have no idea about straight up road bikes with gears and stuff. Just go to your lbs and ask them.

$350 for a road bike is kinda cheap I would say. My dad has one and he paid $1100 for it and its just like a base model.

Yeah the cheapest complete fixed gear bike you can get is like $450 with only a front brake. Add the price of complete brakes and gears along with everything they need and it'll be a lot more.

damn dude if that is the cheapest you can get them then i am fucked haha. maybe i'll go to a bike shop tomorrow and talk with someone.

^^^hahahahahaahaha

I fuckin hate road bikes man, I crashed into a signpost on a roadbike when I was about 6 because I didn't have time to move my hands to the brakes from where I had my hands on the bars...

Thats a pretty good idea. I am not a big bike person but a lot of my friends ride rode bikes, all you do is just look around at like garage sales or stuff like that and most of the time the people do not know how much to sell them for, they then sell them for cheap, and they are actually pretty good bikes.

Just went to 2 bike shops. Cheapest trek was 700 and cheapest one at other one was 600. God damn haha, i'll look around online and shit.

i have a felt f60. pretty good.

i recommend at least getting shimano sora shifters and gear but cause your in america maybe like 105s? and mavic wheels are pretty good value, maybe carbon fiber forks and/or seat post.

if you have enough money for altegra get that but dont get dura ace (its better/lighter, but breaks easy) or a soft ride, over priced shit.

craigslist

all my bike messenger friends have gotten bikes for less than 100.

i could probably ask my friend for his road bike. Get a light one. Ride your scoot....or a tricycle. Are you gonna wear those slimming tights and weird like helmet? Send me a picture, *wink wink*

yeah i will, because its fun as hell. i rode 12 miles today hauling ass and its one of the most fun things ive ever done. this is something i can actually see myself getting pretty serious about.
