RUP headset cups

How do you get the headset cups out of a RUP deck? I've been using a hammer and flathead screwdriver but have had no success. Any tips?

Keep using hammer and flathead till ones out then get some standard bars and hit the other one out

Clamp the deck to something solid like a work bench or use a vice grip, then do the flat head/hammer trick and make sure the screwdriver is resting on the headset cup flange thing and not a notch in the head tube.

If that doesn't work, bring it to a bike shop and ask nicely!

i had the same probelm and what i did was tightened my vice to where the edge of the headset thats wider than the headtube sits on the vice and the headtube slips though than hammer the deck (put a towel or us a rubber mallet) and it worked. although i cant imagine its good for the cups so id only recommend doing it if you dont plan to use them again

Just take a sawzall (reciprocating saw) and carefully make a cut on the inside of each bearing cup and then you can knock them right out.
