Rusting bars, how?

I'm trying to rust my bars, to get that colour. Is there any tips to just get a surface rust?

They have to be raw metal first. Spay a light mist of water on them then just let em sit there for a few days

Why would you want rusty bars? Rust hurts and will start to eat away the metal after awhile. Just get a brown paint...

Salt water will do the trick fast. But you're retarded rust makes bars so much weaker once it develops deeper and looks like crap.

Lol the person I bought my slayers from had em rusted for like a year
I tried rawing them and they rusted like 3 days later
So my bars are pure brown now hah

Lol cause the older the rust gets the deeper into the metal it gets, so even if you sand off the surface rust it'll just grow back.

Do whatever you want to them, hell, even clearcoat them, and ride for a day in BC. It's so humid here it really doesn't matter what you do, it will rust.
But lol rust is horrible. Why would you want it just for the colour? It rubs off on to your hands if you touch your bars.

Nope. Clear coat can only stop rust from starting. Once it's started, you're pretty much screwed.
