Scooter Recommendation

Hey guys,

I joined the forum to find out about what kind of scooter I should get for a ~.7 mile daily commute to campus. There are spots on campus where scooters/bikes/skateboards aren't allowed so I would prefer a collapsible scooter. It doesn't have to be though! I'm open to all suggestions. I just want to find out what else is on the market aside from those RAZOR scooters!

PS - are bigger wheels better for uneven pavement? My school (Berkeley) has a lot of hills and uneven pavement :(
PS - I would prefer to take the scooter with me into the classroom, so preferably, nothing too big.

Razor ultra pro, 1 piece deck, stronger forks with gussets, 1 piece bars.

Wheels have to be harder, not bigger. Like phantoms, proto slider, twizzlers.

How much money are you willing to spend

Well.... This is a website for freestyle trick riding of scooters. We're not really experts in this. But I would say a Razor luxury model or just public transit

- There are no reasonable bus routes for me to take between my place and school.
- I don't want to ride a bike because I would have to share the road with crazy city driving cars (plus there are too many one-way streets).
- Walking at night is unsafe because I live by People's Park.

Thank you for those that offered scooter recommendations. I am looking into them now!

I would say go with a razor cruiser. Wheels dont necessarily have to be harder, but harder wheels will be better for uneven/ bumpy pavement. Bigger wheels would go over bumps easier, which is why someone recommended cruisers. Most stock scooters are collapsable.

That's like saying really tight suspension is best for motocross.

Shameless unintentional promotion but in a range you're looking for just to bring to and from class the Fuzion Cityglide is a great choice for a commuter type scooter. 205mm wheels and it folds. You can find them at the Walmart near the Oakland airport and they retail for $39.99 right now. http://fuzionscooter.com/products/cityglide

chunk, tear, dehub, whatever haha. Just general wear and tear. I dont think the dudes too worried about any specifics with the wheels except size.

If you mean stiff suspension, I actually prefer stiff setups on the front.
And Supercross suspension is mad stiff compared to motocross suspension. Helps for whoops and casing stuff.
