Im confused.... This is how i see it:

Dom says: No noobs... They are boring... OG's only!
I say: Less criteria... (almost) Everyone deserves a shot

Right?
you only say this because you are one
of those noobs, it will be a lot more interesting to hear from kids who've been in the community for a decent while rather than hearing from a kid who hasn't been in the community that long.

let's see, do we interview the kid who has been in the community for a decent while and has seen it in the good and bad times, or the kid who hasn't even been here long enough to form a real opinion...

Some of us have been ridin just as much as you guys and are just as old as you are and helped build the scootering community around us.... But joined this specific site just a little later than the rest Of you, and maybe because instead if sitting all day on an online forum were actually riding our scooters. Thats kind if my case right there and you cant just base the people that joined late or dont have as manu post as immature little kids who dont know anything about the sport

well the community i'm referring to is SR and that would make what said invalid.

^ But in reality, not everyone will have the chance to be interviewed. Theres a boat load of kids on this site.

this is going to be a run on thought so take it for what its worth:

i think for ideas though (realizing i just got into this thread) we need to figure out a good format for this "interview".. it is going as far as being on SR, correct? Its not like it'll be linked to a public website where from here it'll be blasted to Facebook and you'll be the next big thing in the scooter world. if that is the case for this to work it needs to be easy to make, easy to complete for the interviewee, and easy to read by SR (or wherever else it might end up).

this is just a random thought to get your minds back on the right track but say this turns into.... what? (and heres where my head goes from there, realistically)

make a whole section just for SR interviews. Then just put a thread once a week, two weeks, month, whatever with the person's name in the title then the few preset questions we'll ask everybody and the more personalized questions tailored to the specific rider/person inside? then people like you and me that care to read about that person or ask any more questions can do that based off his answers, etc.

thats realistically what I can see happening.. who agrees or sees something different?

A-Brad, the section idea doesnt sound all that bad. However, I think the mods will be the interviewers. That means they will be thinking of the questions. The interviews will probably be done one on one with the internet being the middle man. The interviews might be done over FB or something Idk yet. We haven't figured out whether these will be posted on the home page or in a section of the forum. Keep the ideas coming.

People need to stop thinking about what will get them the highest chance to get interviewed, and think about what will make the interviews themselves more enjoyable.

Ok another idea- we should have maybe two sections, one fr the lesser known people and one for the "enjoyable" or older members, so that way all you people that think it would be boring to read those interviews just dont have to that way this will please all people so i guess its a win win situation

that makes sense and is prettymuch what i was thinking also. if i was you i'd make like a quick word document as a template type thing though with some easy questions you'd end up asking everybody then just change the interviewer and interviewee's names/ add a few more before sending to that specific person thats getting interviewed. a word document anybody could use though if you got in touch on fb or something then emailed them they could fil in and send back with some more thought put into the answers than just the first response they send you back on facebook messaging. i'm just trying to think of ways to actually make this happen (even just starting it up) then you can improve on the process and everything once you see how its going from there

that's a good idea, if it's really that hard for some people to just ignore interviews with unknown people

im not going to start whoring this thread but if you make a whole section just for interviews you can make a sub-section with like "instant classic" interviews or sticky the really good ones so they stay closer to the top of the page. if an interview is great from a "no name n00b" or something it can stay up there with a good interview of a really respected rider also. since it would be a thread style format though the boring interviews or ones that are of people that don't get read/commented on would start filtering down pretty quickly

You guys all need to face it. All of the newer members on here don't want to read about other newer members. You just don't.
All of you are just so eager to get interviewed, which is why you want to make these qualifications for the interviews such bs.

the point is that i don't think most people will ignore. it's not gonna be long interviews. i know i would read them all

You're arrogant.

I think the mods should just choose a random person they think would make a good interview.

in all honesty for the amount of people that are ACTIVE on this forum you'd be able to get through most everybody before you know it if you did say one per week.

just have a master spreadsheet somewhere or do a quick search as a mod to narrow out who's been done then pick from somebody thats currently on and pm them or shoot em a fb message then give them a day to respond and if you don't hear anything in 24 hours go to the next person
