Just like the title says and just like the name of the site. This website is here to be a RESOURCE for ALL SCOOTER riders. The main reason I am making this thread is because of the backlash that this community is responsible for against Fuzion SCOOTERS. They are a SCOOTER company that has done more for us in recent memory than Razor ever has. I know their commercials were a little out there BUT whether kids start riding 2 wheeled scooters because of SR or riding 4 wheeled scooters because of Fuzion the point is is they are still riding scooters and the number one rule is to respect ALL riders. Once kids get into the SCOOTER scene they will see that there is far more potential on 2 wheeled scooters and will make the switch on their own but without Nextsports help to bring them in the sport we will stay unrecognized like it has been with Razor in control.

Hey Darren,

I haven't been around much the last week or so but I talked to Gary
recently and he informed me of a situation that occurred last week
regarding the new Fuzion commercials. Gary also let me read your
email where you stated that you did not want this to turn into a 2 vs.
4 wheel battle but I think those commercials might have just promoted
that more than anything and I think they could have been done a little
more tastefully towards the 2 wheeled portion of the community. On
the other hand I know you guys are just doing business and in the end
you sell a 4 wheel scooter so I understand where you are coming from.
I really want to be able to give you guys an equal opportunity on
SCOOTER Resource but it might be difficult if things like that keep
coming out. I can control my moderators to a certain extent but I
can't control the reaction of an entire community. I still would like
you guys to take part in the SD comp and I do appreciate all your
company has done and still does for scooters in general so maybe we
can talk about this more.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the understanding. As you mentioned, business is business
and seeing that the commercial is viewed by millions and millions of
viewers on TV it's in the best interest of Nextsport to provide
something to compel the average viewer to buy our product. I regret
posting that version of the commercial now but the intention was to show
the community that opportunities like the commercial shoot, sponsorship,
tour events, et al. are available for them. Regardless of that post as
I've deleted it since, I am hesitant about posting anything at all
anymore because all it seems to do is fuel the fire. You run a great
forum and have been crucial to us in finding some great riders and I'd
love to keep trying to help promote scootering as a sport regardless of
whether or not most of the users place us in that category; however,
there is so much negativity on the forum that it really does not do Team
Fuzion any good nor the entire sport as a whole if the "core" group of
great riders bickers amongst themselves.

We have tons of new products in store for debut in 2008 that are
definitely not going to be well received by the community for whatever
reasons they already hate our products. It didn't work out for 2007 but
we are in negotiations with X-Games, Dew Tour and a few others for
participation come 2008 and I would hate to take away the opportunities
for SR members to compete/participate in them. Unfortunately, with the
success of the Asphalt and over 300K units sold in the last 1.5 years
our reach is much larger and we do have other outlets for expanding our
team. We have roughly 400 active team members now and only 70 are from
SR of which maybe 10 including yourself are not going to turn around and
trash Nextsport at a whim. Our other riders are enthusiastic about
being part of the team and offer the same amount of skill (with some
practice) as SR members without the unnecessary drama.

I know you there's not much you can do about the reaction of the forum
and I've done my best to only post where there's opportunities for you
guys and videos of what some team members have been up to. I've asked
the majority of our top riders to not get into arguments regardless of
what is said about the product; we're here to support the sport and not
argue our way into the market.

As you could imagine I am pretty pissed off about this. There is a list of rules at the top of this page, none of which are ever enforced anymore. I have spent the last 5 years building this site up to what it is now and I am in a very good position and in the process of securing some very good deals to push this sport into the mainstream with the right backing and sponsorship from companies like Nextsport, who as you can see above is now having second thoughts due to what happened last week and just the general attitude of the people on this forum.

I have asked time and time again for everyone to crack down on the rules and it never happens. I have parents emailing me asking if they can have their accounts removed because they don't want their kids on here anymore and it is just getting ridiculous. Treat the noobs with respect and the cocky little bastards who think they can do and say anything they want get BANNED. Period. It makes me look bad when I am trying to promote this sport with companies and tell them to come to my site and all they see is a crazy adolescent profanity fest and I've had enough. If parents don't feel comfortable with their kids visiting this site then I am not doing my job and neither are you guys.

From now on ALL rules are ZERO tolerance. That means if people are breaking them they get banned. If you don't like that or don't think you can ban people to get the message across that this behavior will not be tolerated anymore please let me know so I can replace you with someone who is willing to enforce the rules.

Also, as moderators you are here to set an example for everyone else and the zero tolerance policy applies to you now as well. If I catch any of you breaking any of the rules you will be banned too.

I def. have my own thoughts about all of this. But i dont even feel like going into all this. But i will say, i dont like the way SR has felt in the past 6 months or so.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion I'm not going to mad about that. I PERSONALLY think those commercials were total bullshit BUT I am biting my tongue because they are the only company around with any potential to really do something with this sport. If I can stay on good terms with them and "inspire" them to get into the 2 wheeled scooter market then Razor will be a thing of the past. I don't really know what to say other than try to look at the bigger picture and try to imagine the possibilities with a company around that actually cares.

As far as enforcing the rules, that is just something that has bothered me for awhile and like you said, I too have not liked the feel of SR for sometime now so I am doing something about it. I want new kids here growing the sport not the same old dick heads talking shit all day long and steering everyone away.

Also, you can say anything you want in the admin section the rules don't apply in here and I personally don't care, I am just asking that you watch yourself in the public forums where everyone can see.

I'll def. start cracking down. Whoever I do end up banning im going to ban anonymously on the forum and just let you guys know so i don't have to deal with kids bitching on the forum and getting bugged on AIM about it. I haven't been down with Fuzion lately, but they have helped out a ton and hooked me up with tons of fuzions.

personally i dont mind if there on the forums, doubt many kids will actually trade in there 2 wheeled scooters for the fuzions. but that video they posted was total bullshit rep for our sport. but i will also keep an eye out for rule breakers, theres a few people ive had my eye on for awhile.

I would say one week then one month then perma but not a permanent ban right off the bat that is a little harsh. I am just trying to get a message across to clean this place up.

Also, if people have really outrageous/bannable posts just delete their post even if you ban them. Basically the goal is to make any unacceptable content disappear which means delete it instead of locking it where people can still see it. If the thread can be saved by just deleting a few post do that but if the entire thread goes bad just delete the whole thing.

Just a suggestion, you might wanna add drug/alcohol discussion on there, and maybe something about drunk posters. I hate when kids come on here and brag about beer/being drunk (cough dibble, although he hasn't done it recently).

You should make a stickied thread in General Discussion stating that we now have a zero tolerance policy toward breaking the rules, just so people can try to clean up their act before they get a temp. ban
