almost every company has scooters in their name. you need to if you want to be found on any search engine... because, believe it or not, you need sales in order to have a business. and if a newbie to the sport is looking for parts, he's gonna say something about scooters. he's not gonna just type in "proto." so yeah, proto's name is proto scooters. nothing childish about that at all. just business.

You're failing to see the flaws in that logic. Skating sprouted from surfing. Then what did surfing sprout from? BMX came from Biking and Motocross, but bikes and motocross had to be invented some time. That brings it to scooters themselves. Scooters sprouted from bikes AND skateboards. A scooter is basically a bike skateboard hybrid. The two "coolest" sports by your logic. So what makes them "gay"? The only thing BMX and skating have over scootering is seniority, and that is it. Skating and BMX have been around longer. It's simply the progression in life. Scooters are a technological advancement, and they are still young. That's why it's stupid to call them "gay", and pointless to try to force respect from other people. I mean, we've only been around for about a decade. Where were skating and BMX ten years after they were invented? Absolutely nowhere. Scooters have completely blown up and advanced more in ten years than skateboards and BMX have in their entire duration, and that makes them gay? No. Respect will come with time. And it WILL come.

These two things could make my life hell if I let them, but I don't give a fuck what some stranger thinks about me and if I want to talk to someone at a park or street spot I do. forst of all type in element in google , the first link that comes up is element SKATEBOARDS. Its a scooter company put scooters in the name. worrying about image is okay to a point.

rdubya is completey right, don't be ashamed about the scooters in the name, that just shows that you don't take pride in what you do and only do stuff to make your self seem cooler. be ashamed of whats before it, Proto scooters vs something gay like ExPlOsIoNs AnD TiTiEs SCOOTZZZZZ (you know what i mean), really its not the scooters that makes the name bad its what the actual name is.
