Scooters in future

Ok so scootering will probably get big and maybe its own brands

Just say what you imagine or hope it will be like
e.g:
tubular cromoly headtubes
larger wheels with metal cores
maybe even brakes with a lever

I donno. say what you feel

well theres already metal cores and i have only seen 2 broken and one wasn't even a full metalcore
and the other was a chunk on rubber that broke off.
i think someone in the us should make a good pair of full metal coes
i think a chromoly headtube sounds sick i bet that would look cool.

i think there needs to be a scooter shoe brand. like the shoes have massive support.

for a brake with a handle i don't know if it's been done on a push scooter but i THNK eric magray made a front brake that you just push on
a thing on his headtube and it pressed down on the front wheel so like thats kinda close?

maybe more chioces in scooter bodies that are strong. there are my ideas.

naa there will be no point in making the scooters bigger coz knowone will want 1, the idea is to have control over the scooter. same with bmx, thats why they r small.

well buff bars may come out so that'd be tight..
I think if you had a steel headset it would just increase the damage to the folding mechanism because aluminum is obviously softer... Someone needs to make a non-folding scooter...

as far as future parts go, if things go well with this guy i met at this weld shop, ill be working on some prototype stuff such as lighter 2pc bars for people that want something lighter and arent as hard on their bars as other people. ill also be attempting a lighter fork than SR but different design, but most likely not since those forks are amazing and i like the weight.

but the biggest and most important thing on my list is a frame (basically deck but with welded headtube and no mech or bolts), it will be made of aluminum though may make cromo version as well. the deck wont need reinforcements and will be ready to setup and ride without modding.

all of the above are plans i have, though are not definite. so dont go waiting on me for a new part and blame me if you wait too long becasue even if this does work out everything will still need to be tested to make sure im happy with everything before i will sell them.

yea i made that thing sometime during the summer, it worked okay enough to do nosepicks most of the time but it hurt your foot to much. not something everyone would want unless i got back at working on making a newer version.

im pretty set on scooters right now. if they could just make them stronger and lighter. theyd be set. maybe developing faster or stronger wheels or something like that.

i dont want scootering to become a HUMONGOUS thing like skateboarding cause i like being different. and as far as parts they need stronger metals on stock scooters and better wheels on stock scooters.

JUST working on this, not any larger than standard ones though.

As for the future, I believe that scooters will have to be completely redesigned for the purpose of freestyle riding. I have said this numerous times: the scooters scooters were designed so they could be easily folded, light and available for everyone. These principles are nowhere like what we want our scooters to be. One thing that is sure to be changed is the width of the deck: a 4" wide one was meant to be enough to fit only one foot on the deck. As for the weight, Im sure that there won't be like a general change but rather a specialization: seeing as there are various kinds of BMX bikes for diffrent riding terrain, I think that there will eventually be a huge variety of scooters to choose, from heavy street scooters to slightly lighter park scooters with possibly bigger wheels to ultra light vert/tech/flatland scoots.
Just look how outrageous the situation is today. A rider from the States has virtually no reasonable choice when it comes to what scooter to get, as the diffrence in quality of the Micro scooters (if there even is any) is surely not enough to compensate the huge price diffrence and the shipping from over the ocean.

Edit: I also think that the deck length will become a matter of choice with various sizes produced, just like the height of bars nowadays.

I think it'd be cool to have a scooter frame like a bike frame, without the foldy or anything, just as one big "piece", with the headset all included. And with an integrated headset, of course.

For brakes, I got this old scooter from a garage sale once that had a hand brake that had a cable that went through the scooter and pulled the actuall brake (like the ones we have) down onto the wheel. It was strange.

the most i can see scooters advancing would be mass production of products that work straight out of the box without all the modification and maybe the scooters will all have 125 mm wheels and better designed aluminum bodys without the stupid folding mechanism and mass production of bars like rads or buffs, there isnt much u can change and still keep it a scooter

i agree one peice body would be fantastic no bolts sticking out, no problem finding out whats making ht bars move. wha a dream.

the one piece body would be pretty sweet. i think hand brakes would be also fun... tire taps with a hand brake would be so fun

No hand brake..i think that is one thing that kinda seperates scooters from a bike or a board, plus the wires that come with a hand brake would come with would kida kil alot of tricks

scooters will be made of titanium lol. But I think they shouldnt come all modded because it takes away all the fun doesnt it?

i think they might change as in styles.
like a cruising scooter
and a freestyle scooter
Maybe but i like the way that razor and micro have made just freestyle scooters so it gives the impression that we're cool. :) we dont want some 42 year old virgin who rides a scooter with bars as high as they can go just cruising to the shops.
I'd like a scooter that you will not need to mod! supper strong and durable

you could buy different headtube angles like bikes chyeahh
do you rekon there would be heaps of brand and models?
didnt micro say they are bringing out a "pro model" sometime
that will be good

titanium bends easy
modding gets boring
