scooters in x-games 2012

If they did the street course from last years skate and Bmx, that would be cool, but the park and shit isn't what needs publication.

They need to get some friendly riders, some addict riders, some lucky riders and any other street shredders and put them in the street comp. That would be SO sick and way more fun to watch than flippy dippy park shit. And hopefully people would take us more seriously when they saw the kind of stuff they can do.

Are you kidding me? They're actually serious about this?

I could probably find out if this is true or not cuz my dad works for espn, nfl, nba, and did the x games last year as operations producer and technical manager.

:O so stoked

If this is true its gonna be make or break i feel. People will either love how innovative and creative it is and be totally surprised, then the sport will just explode. Or people it won't be taken seriously what so ever, not get taken back the next year and be completely forgotten about.

Only thing i know for certain is this: I love to scooter. Always have. And regardless of what happens. I always will. Xgames or not i will still be on my scooter years down the road from now whether its considered mainstream or not.

park wouldnt be bad if you got ..old tyler bonner, ryan williams, like luke burland, brandon loupos, kota, brendon smith
street would be good if matt mckeen, jackson manzie, jon archer, evan yamada, blake bailor.
people are making to big a deal out of this. i think itd just make x games better. i mean its already boring enough with rally car and 4 hour motocross warm ups then the dont even do anything. the only things that even interest me in the x games are bmx and skating, so scootering would make it good if they got good enough riders. i dont see why everyones making a big deal either way, were definatly NOT too small of a sport theres thousands of riders in the world, to the people complaining, your not the only ones watching it. people are actually excitied for this, and i can say i kind of am to. people stop going off what other people think and be happy for it if you want to, dont think its gay because all the pros or other people do.

This just seems to be the "park isn't cool" opinion. I think both park and street need to be pushed mainstream if we all want to be a mainstream sport. Personally, I don't, but that is a different story,

This year would definitely impress some people, but others will still hate. I'd say go for it, and all the pros better be on top of their game.

"Dear All, My name is Scott and I am the owner of Scooter Hut. We allow some of our staff to work as administrators on our Facebook page, which normally works well for us as a means to keep in touch with our customers and friends. Today, one of my staff overheard a private conversation regarding the involvement of scooters in the xGames and wrongly decided to make an announcement on our Facebook Page in relation to this before running it by me. There is no doubt scooters will be in the xGames at some point, but we have no "official" announcement as to when this will be, so I am sorry if we have given false hope of a 2012 inclusion. On a more positive note, I can confirm we have been in talks with Nitro Circus this week and as a result of these discussions, we will have at least two scooter riders performing in every show of this year's Nitro Circus Tour of Australia. One giant leap at a time for this beautiful sport :)"

Who is going to bring the unique/originality to the sports debut?

There needs to be one or a couple of people who are just flowing around having fun and expressing their personalities

wow....
Edit: I will be boycotting this premature decision. This idea that is a false illusion of the "progress of this sport" will certainly destroy it just as quickly as it was built. The pro's of today do not know how to conduct the ideals of this sport or themselves to the media. It will go in the same route as inline skating did. The market will seize to be due to huge corporations knocking off our rider owned companies products, pushing them around with money, then flooding the market with those products. I do not agree with this decision the ISA has made. Their head is in the right place, but I believe they need to let this sport mature before pushing kids, whom are our pro's for the most part, into such a limelight. -Josh Toy
Agreed.

We as a sport are not ready yet. The X games are just going to make scooters look not impressive compared to bmx and skating, which are much more developed. Maybe in about five years the sport will be able to be taken seriously enough.

This si what I originally thought, but remember, Its the top of the top that actually perform at the x games, If we have a street and vert event, We just throw the mgp team in their, with half of proto and lucky, and we should be golden, I think......... IT WILL BE COOL
AND reall or not, I don't think nothing can kill our swag, also, rob regad should be in the xgames.
