Scorcher Fork Questions

Hi guys.

Im pretty sure im going to be buying a Scorcher fork.

I just have a few questions though:

1. Can the scorcher be used with SCS?

2. What is the size on the INSIDE of the tube? Will the standerd starnut that comeswith Proto SCS fit strait in?

Yes and yes, but don't you have a mgp? Because if you do you will have to either cut down the fork(only if you think you'll never get another deck) or use headset spacers (eww).

Im gonna use headset spacers.

The only reason im gonna go with SCS is because i cant use HIC unless i get oversized bars and Gen Y's dont come in oversized. Maybe i should go ICS?

Well with ics if u don't like it you can just go to scs anyway.

But then i would have to cut the bars down and that would make them shorter then i want.

I would have to cut the bars down because you cant use slits on SCS.

Yeah but scs adds 2 inches plus the headset spacers would have to be around 1 inch so it would add 3 inches. You know what i mean?

Now, just a quick question about the bars, should i get:

Standerd slits

Back and front only

Back only.

Which one should i get?

Yeah standard and make sure you use 2 starnuts otherwise it wont work. DSA's compression comes with two and it holds up good, I ran its for a month and a half without tightening then switched compression. Oh and lock tite wouldn't hurt either.

Just to make sure:

So, i should get the STANDARD SLITS?

And ICS with 2 starnuts?

Is all this correct?

Also, what is the difference between the different slit types? Why do they do them? I know why the no slits is there, for SCS, but why do they make, standard (side by side), front and back and back only? Just seems weird to me?

Oh if standard means side by side then get back only, and yes use ICS with two starnuts.

If you wanted you could jam a forktube in slitted bars to make them SCS compatible, without shortening them.
just a tip

also if you wanted you could buy a headtube extender for your MGP. Mine has been working fine for a month or so

I can get Standerd (side by side) front and back, or back only.

I would get back only but standard isn't much different, so it doesn't really matter.

Ok. But why would you get back only? What are the reason for it over standard, that what i wanna know .

Personally, I would get back only. Bars with slits on both sides tend to break easier at the top of the slits.

get back only sig bars have two slits and bend at the slits

sig bars have three super long slits. back only is the best though
