scs with slit bars

i need to switch to scs from ics cause my starnut stripped and ics sucks. i have a slit in my c4 bars so i was just thinking of putting an old forktube in my bars so that the clamp doesnt squeeze my bars think that will work?

yea do that... when i got my complete from SHQ they didnt put anything in and it had a slit so i dunno

u bars crack at the slit if its in scs VERY FAST just cut you bars down they will be the same height

It will work, but it's better to cut your bars 2 inches so they are made for scs.

well they are c4 bars, so im not too worried about them cracking. i bought them off of a friend and i had to cut the slit myself and the slit is like superrr deep into the bars.
i might be screwed but ill try it for the time being

HOW?!??! if he has a long enough fork tube in there and if there is a drill stop, he will be fine. dont just post random thoughts that pop into your head and use them as facts.

the little hole thats slightly bigger than the slit in ur bars. its made by drilling into the end of the slit of the bars (like all bars have them) and it stops cracks that might occur. so thats why that other guys comment was so unintelligent.

Not all bars have them. You dont NEED them. But you should have them if your slits come higher then your clamp.
