arguments dont have to be bad. they can be simple discussions if kids didnt talk crap.

Thats exactly why! Everything starts as a discussion, when theres a discussion theres opinions, when people have different opinions come together, people are immature and argue.

Cannabis thread has never had an arguement <3

love this.

the only reason threads become immature or end up in fights is because the people posting in them are in fact, immature. ive seen alot of potentially stupid threads, and i dont really take action in them until something dumb happens. for instance, that dumbest edits thread. that couldve gone on fine, but people ha to start shit talking about the kids in them, what scooters they have, etc etc. and nit picking little dumb shit out. once that starts, its 100% bound to escalate into a fight. most of the people on this site are complete idiots, and ruin the site for the rest of us that arent idiots. fuck those people.

While this is true you also have to realize that newish members feel threatened for "popularity" by newer members (This only applies to the younger/youngest crowd who constantly demand attention) so they follow the other member's everymove for a mistake then unleash the beast, this only starts a shitstorm that is un-rivaled in proportiona and derails a thread like you would never believe (Thankfully this is not too crazy on SR).

Another factor is that older members (16+) have a blatant disregard for those 14 and under, I am included in this as are MANY members on this site, mainly because picking on the younger members is easy and can be quite funny due to their immaturity, lack of spelling, or just general moronicness (This leads to flame wars like no other from what I have seen).

One last thing that I have noticed on here, especially in the Scooters section is very new members who cannot ride well posting VERY expensive scooters and basically provoking a fight from the get go, I and almost every member on this whole site have been involved in one of these fiascos. Certain members even take pride in doing this once or twice a week *cough cough* Mu... *Cough Cough*... Instead of posting a setup everyonce in a while they are compelled to always purchase new things and tell everyone about them 24/7 which makes many members flip shits as they cannot afford parts all the time or really want a specific part that was posted. This leads into another big area of issue which is many members flaunting their wealth around like having money is something everyone is born into, If I was a mod on here I would actually warn many members from bragging about income or what or whatnot is bought for them at any given time as some members on here and many people in life can get VERY aggravated fast over the issue of money.

Some solutions to this issue that plagues this website are:

-Age limit on sign up (14+). This prevents immature, and over active people from joining and starting world war 3 on the site
-3 Strike policy. Strike one- 24 hr ban for insults or general disruptive behavior (Stirring controversy, starting ----- ect), Strike 2- 1 Week ban, no contest, and lastly Strike 3- 1 month to perma-ban no contest
-Heavily monitor threads of controversy and hand out warnings like no tomorrow (Your scooter thread needs CONSTANT watch these days)
- Promote mods in secret to watch even closer on a level some mods may not be able to reach (I didn't even know Hep was a mod, this is a good example)

And MUCH MUCH MUCH more... You learn alot from Moderating a forum with 30k members, I have so much shit to post it would take all day haha

Wait... Hep's a mod?

Anyway, my rule is if you don't have something useful to post, or something helpful, don't post at all.

Lurking is where it's at.
