BUMP since we had a hardcore punk discussion in my rock history class today.
to you kids saying the sex pistols actually played good music, that's total bullshit. johnny rotten actually said it wasn't about the music. the whole idea behind the sex pistols, and early punk in general, was to get back to the simple 3 chord structure of rock, and away from the progressive, art rock, and hippie bands that had been thriving.
the sex pistols were about being crazy and absurd as they could be, just to say FUCK YOU to society. they were NOT about the music.
if you like the music they played, then thats your opinion so good for you, but don't try to say they were talented when the band themselves all admit they sucked.
