I ripped apart a pair of Authentics in a month. It sucked.

sttttttoooopppp buying the thin shoes dude, they are made for looks, not riding. The good shoes for riding are the ones intended for BMX, like the desrugent, fucking awesome shoes http://www.vans.com/microsites/bmx/desurgent.php

you would have to be a dumbass to try riding in these and expect good performance.

Janoski's, Chukka Lows, Vans Vulc 106s, SB Harbors, and I rode in 6.0 Mogan 2s for about eight months.

Adidas makes some pretty legit stuff, too.

Amazing, not too soft and not too hard, just right. Amazing for drops cause they're BMX shways.

Okay, so I bought Emerica Reynolds 3s just over half a year ago, and damn! Those things were amazing! They were so light i literally forgot i was wearing bulky skate shoes sometimes, it feels like your riding on a cloud. There excellent for sets too, cause they have this insert that is just incredible, it cushions your feet so well. And they had great protection on the sides too, overall they were great shoes. The bottom bit of them ripped off just under a week ago, but they were so worth it considering how cheap they are. For $45-$60 bucks you literally cannot go wrong. I'm not sure if I'm gonna get the same shoes again, or try some Nike's. But yeah check Reynolds 3s out if you want some affordable, excellent shoes for riding. Nick Griffin will tell you different, but he's a badger.
Oh and tactics is the most legit place to buy your shoes, they shipped them to australia for me in literally under a week. http://www.tactics.com/emerica/reynolds-3-skate-shoes

I had bought them before I had even started riding, they were the first shoes I actually rode in. Man, thinking back to those Franken-Pro days...Authentics, baggy jeans, and a Pro-everything with an Old A deck...
