Skateboarding is going down

Not trying to start anything with people on here that also skate, but this is just an observation. You don't hear about any awesome skating going down anywhere. The skating videos all look the same. You always see the same tricks in competitions, with the same people doing them over and over. There's hardly anything new. If there should be anything kicked out of Xgames, it should be skateboarding (and the should replace it with a more interesting, more progressive sport). Once again - Im not acting critic like I do all the time, this is just an observation to set a starting point in a discussion. I would really like someone to prove me wrong, I mean PROVE me wrong, not insult.

I kinda agree actually. We need more skaters like william spencer, chris haslam, and jamal motherfucking smith who actually do original tricks unlike all the run of the mill skaters you see at parks today that hit up the ledges, rails and stairsets AND NOTHING ELSE.

I agree to an extent. Skating has been around for a while now, the point of non stop progression is slowly slowing down. And the tricks are jes being re used and recylcled. Not many skaters are actually trying to push it further anymore. With the exception of those named above, and a few more. But i still dont see Skating dying out like Inline did, anytime soon.

I think that if skateboarding wasn't such a popular sport among viewers of the X-games that it would be out because of this lack of progression. There is so much more progression in BMX and other sports, I think scootering would be a good addition, because it is unique while still a mix of skating and BMX.

You get them kicked out of parks?...
Well anyway, the ones at my park always get in your way, they don't look out at all, fuckin annoying. Plus they all suck at my park. But then again my park sucks for skating.

they truly need to put scooters in the x games
I dunno, the sport is still in it's early stages, and because of that I don't think we have a wide enough rider base to have really big competitions and all that. Small scale though would work like the planet x games and such, but with less shitty ramps.

I think that if there were more riders that could hit big stuff like there is at the X-games we could be in there. Our base is big enough for big comps, just not big enough for huge comps like the Dew Tour or the X-games.

when you see a good scooter or bmx video, you see tons of crazy lines and combos that really inspire you to try something new.

when you see a skate video, you just see everyone treflipping down stairs or grinding rails, no crazy combos

thats pretty much it, besides from nobody really knowing how hard some kids shred. theres BK, TP, Coedie, Stan, Murphy, Jesse, but really, who else can ride big stuff like that? give it a few years, the sport will get there someday. enjoy it while its not so big yet.

You add Steve Wilson, Boner, Radtke and there you go. X games is an invitational comp now so you bring these guys and your set.

hmm, well perhaps. but i can't really see scooters in the x-games, i can see them in the dew tour as a demo thing at one stop.

idk but I wouldn't want to see scooters get that big like in the x-games and stuff I think it would ruin what we have now
