Shelby, when did I say that picture sucks. That's the first time you've posted it. I realize that that's one picture you've taken that is somewhat good (sky is blown out, and yes it shows in black in white). I'm assuming that anytime that somebody criticizes you, you whip out your one good picture to prove that you have skills. But, it takes more than one decent shot to completely destroy every picture on here because of shutter speeds and shit manual settings. But get your self in line, your no where near as good as any half decent photographer and neither am I. But, I'm not commenting on every photo about how gut wrenching it is. Maybe next time you should give some constructive criticism rather than:

1/800 is a good shutter speed, expect if its really bright outside or if its really dark, i never shoot at night because i don't have flashes yet.
On he didn't show the whole ramp thing mean't, you want to show where the skater is coming from and where he rides away but i didn't see that in those photos.
I don't frame my photos because i don't like to, i don't watermark them anymore also. If you frame them then thats cool.
I'm a GOOD photographer, if i wasn't i wouldn't be talking shit or telling people how to do stuff.
AND i never said i'm the best, and i can tell you now, i'm deffenilty not.
BUT i'm not a bad photographer, you don't know how many people love my photos, my scootering ones, skateboarding, and show, every single band i shot bands for all love my photos.
If you want to tell me i suck at photography, then go ahead i really don't give a shit because one person won't make me quit or go away.

Shelby, your retarded. Framing doesn't mean putting a black border around a picture, it means framing the subject of your picture using other objects and/or your composition.

I just look through this thread, all of your pictures except like 2 the subject is in the middle of the shot, but off center and it looks pretty bad in most of them. Ever hear of the rule of thirds? You should look into it...Shelby Grimnes said:

That has wonderful composition because the subject is off-centered, right? WRONG? Composition consists of lots of different elements, none of which having to do with off centered subjects. Composition depends on stuff like framing, rule of thirds, balance, lighting, point of view, motion, dof/selective focus, space, perspective, etc... This has amazing composition. He's framed in that granite slab that has the quote on it. Lets through the rule of third lines on it:
Notice how he lines up where the two lines collide. The human eyes/brain love the rule of thirds. A picture can be much more interesting than you think when you just use the rule of thirds. It has nice irregular/triangular balance (READ UP ON IT) and the lighting is obviously fine. It doesn't have much dof but that's nearly impossible to get in action shots. The perspective is just fine to see exactly whats going on.
I think you should take a photo class or read a book before you start criticizing people. You really don't know anything.
All you have to offer is "ass shots r gay" and "eww nasty shutter speed", "dats a point and shoot" and "im good at photography.

My composition is good

i let real skateboard photographers like Dane, Ty Bush, Matt Price tell me how to take my photos not you people who don't shoot skateboarding like them.
Dane has showed me everything and he is making me a good photographer.
I don't have a flashes so i can't make my photos look has good has some of your guys but i still know what i'm doing.
And guys i've read all about thirds when i first started. God Damm just leave this alone.
I'm fucking over it.

Cornor just evidetually explained that coposition is not just postioning the subject off-center.. and the three photos you post up are just average off-centerd shots.

i dont have any money to buy flashes.
i'm getting a job to get some and other shit
but i might have to give some of that money to my mom, we can barly afford where we live right now. My life fucking sucks, i have dick friends, i can't play hockey anymore because i can't afford it and playing hockey and photography is like the only thing that makes me happy.
I'm having fun, which you guys are ruining. I"M SORRY IF I PISSED ALL YOU GUYS OFF. I'M LEAVING.
