So your sort of saying your going to cut the deck throught the centre and put a snowboard plate on there? And you'd weld it back together? I'm not sure if it would reinforce the deck much, but it's worth a try. You should ask Matt Dibble about it maybe, or make the deck reinforcement he made.
I really like your idea though!
