just take some piping that fits around the fork but not the race. and hit it in all evenly. or you can tap it on each side till it goes on. or you can take 2 headtubes and hammer the top.anything that will work.

Lol nothing worked. I just made my head tube uneven where the cups rest but anyway, I finally got it in by grinding down the crown race a little bit. Thanks for the help. Andrew if you see this , could you tell me what to do with the locking collar?

Thanks for you help fellaz.

I own SR.
When I install crown races I use a bench top vise. Slide the crown race on the forks then turn them sideways or upside down depending on what works best with your vise, close the jaws until they clamp LIGHTLY on the steer tube then I hammer the fork legs straight down and the jaws of the vise press the race on. That is a very crude way to do it but it work. There are other ways of doing it and specialty tools if you really want to do it right or take it to a bike shop.

As for the locking collar. You have to use it to align the top bearings and fork but I took out the locking screw because you don't really need it.
