SR Fork Problem

okay this really suxs, i just got my threadless SR Fork, V2 with the Compression Combo, oversized statnut, only becuase I also ordered buff bars, but they got lost in UPS so I'm waiting for a new pair.. anyways when i ordered my headset I got a 1 1/8 star nut with it, the size for razor bars, so I put the starnut into my steer tube, put the steertube on my SR Fork, but... the conpression bolt doesnt reach the starnut and I have the starnut as low as possible.. so what do i do?.. I know that there are steer tube where at the bottom where it's threaded inside that there are like two kinds, one's where that part is longer and one where its shorter, unfortunally I have the longer one, so anything I can do to fix it? Thanks

u need to cut a like 1/2 of inch on the bottom of steer tube
