SR Fork/Rad bar problem?

My bars on my scooter keep moving back and fourth after like a half hour... I thought it was my headset that kept getting loose but when i would tighten up the compression bolt my bars were still moving... so i loosened up the clamp on my bars and took the bars off than put them back on and tightend up the clamp and the shaking was gone. Does anyone have a problem like this? I guess the bars are slowly sliding up because theres no threads on the fork? It does it no matter how tight the clamp is. Suggestions?

That happened to me too in the beginning, but it's been doing well now. At first it got loose after like 10 minutes or riding, then an hour, then a couple days, and now it's pretty good. So yeah, just keep loosening the clamp, tightening down the compression system, and tightening the clamp. You might want to go to a bike shop and get a couple seat post clamps because those are a million times better and stronger than normal clamps. Make sure to bring in your Rads to make sure they fit.

I might switch up to 2 single clamps instead of the pro model double clamp and see how that works.... the double clamp is weird

okay i have that problem too except i dont have rads, i have stock bars. i was gunna make a thread about this but since uve already made when ill jsut ask for help in here. so i have an sealed fsa pig with the SR fork and compression system. i took the fork off yesterday to repaint it because it was all chipped. i take it off, paint it and go to put it back on, and it works but the compresison system is stuck now and like wont tighten or loosen cuz it just keeps spininng and not doin anythin. my bars were good in the beginning of the day, but now they shake like crazy and i cant take it, cuz things not solid bug me lol (ima perfectionist). and so im trying to take my sr fork off and compression off and put on a stock fork and headset cuz my stock old a headset is like 304923 better than my fsa haha. but i cant get the fork off because the compression system keeps spinning. its really loose and im hella close i just cannot get it off all da way. i need it together soon cuz im goin to this indoor park like an hour anda half away from my house tomorr but its bein gay to me. any suggestions???? please respond i need major help

lol well i finally got the fork out.... i broke the compression system however ( although i knew that was gunna happen)..... ima ride a stock fork with my old a stock headset for a while and see how i like it...

Very good advice right here. You will need a 1-1/4" seatpost clamp. it makes things alot more dialed and simple. Shims are a pain the ass anyways, and soon will probably not be included with rads anymore because everyone should just get a decent clamp or two.

Also, after tightening the headset, you do leave the bolt in the compression nut right? that way there should be no problems with anything loosening. I have seen a few people whos rads would loosen up a few time until they broke in and stopped. But that happend because the threads on the fork would dig in to the bars and sort of thread them, which made room to tighten them a bit more. This being on a threadless fork though, i doubt that is happening.

You can try two single clamps with one turned 180 degrees so each one would tighten each of two slits cut in the bar.

It could be the exact opposite that's happening, because if he ran the Rads with threaded forks they got "threads" on them, then when he switched to the threadless fork they would have to smooth out again. I'm amazed at how much sense that made, go me.

Very true alex.
Basically ANY new part will take a little while to "break in" though. Especially things that need tightend, like headsets, clamps bearings and axles etc.
So id say just kepp tightening things up and eventually it should stay tight.

Yeah.. Eric told me to tighten the compression system up alot and break it in. Took like 10 minutes and now my shits perfect and didn't shake at all last night after i did it. Problem solved :)
