Seems as if you're one of the main causes for "missing out on information", since like maybe 1 of the following threads has to do with scooters.

This doesn't count the probably 3-5ish that have been moved or deleted out of discuss anything since january.

I don't care about those threads really, because some people find them interesting or whatever.... but you CANNOT come on here and complain about there being too many pointless and annoying posts if you are one of the biggest contributers to it all.

I'll stand behind that I've made dumb threads too, but I'm also not making threads bashing on how many dumb threads/posts are being made.

when i joined this site it was the fact there was an atmosphere that made me want to come here everyday, however now i dont even visit most sections beacuse all i end up reading is just endless shiit. thats not the way it was when i remmeber it, its anoying for sure.

Your only real argument against the site now is it's not the way it used to be but imagine if you were just starting to ride right now and stumbled upon SR all over again... it would be like a scooter gold mine.

The "atmosphere" you are talking about is when the site was small, unknown and generally all OG riders. That" atmosphere" was the sense of belonging and excitement that you were participating in something that no one else at the time was really involved with. That "atmosphere" was having the opportunity to have a conversation one on one with all the top riders in the sport who most of which don't even come on here anymore. That "atmosphere" was where everyone knew everyone by name. That "atmosphere" was before big teams started and the only big videos we could watch were ones made by riders and released free on the internet because no sponsor claimed rights to them.

I do agree that the old versions of SR had a certain quality about them that this one does not have but the fact is, is that that atmosphere is gone. You are living in the past and there is no way to make the site like it used to be because SR is a direct reflection of what is happening in the sport today and now the sport is just too big to have that warm welcoming feeling when you log on where everyone knows you. Just be thankful you got to experience it when you did because 99% of the kids on this site now and in the future will never have that privilege.

Also, no one needs to lecture me on the way the site used to be, is or needs to be because I made it and I have seen it all and I have plans for the future.

Really the only solution I can give you is to go out and ride or pick up another hobby other than browsing these forums because nothing is going to change. I come on SR once a day MAYBE and when I'm on I read at most 5 threads out of the 100 new ones because I guarantee I have already read the same topics 50 times before so there is no point in reading them again. If I did not own SR and run a business through it I would probably only be on once a week if that.

I do thank you for your dedication and loyalty to SR and I wish I could give you a better answer than that but you can't turn back time and kick out 90% of these kids just so it feels like it used to. It is selfish and they deserve the same opportunities you had to get as much out of this site as they can, after all it is a resource.

well i've got a novel idea...i know, i've written like a book about why we shouldn't have it but...maybe the admin could implement the "pro and n00b" section again. or maybe a whole section thing where kids could make threads asking how to install a bmx headset to their heart's desire, something like that.

And don't forget, there is IN FACT an alternate site to SR, where the owners probably see most of yous who are complaining as n00bs who made them make the site in the first place. so maybe you could go there for scoot stuff, revive it a bit.

There is clearly going to be "n00bs" in every sport out there. But you don't have to make dumb threads asking where the headset is located on the scooter and things like that. Ask some friends that bike or scooter, search google, search SR, use the stickied threads and what not. Really not that difficult.

Theres tons of stupid threads on here, but with more organization it can be helped.
-one thing i think would help is to place the search bar at the top, even when i am trying to look for it i can hardly find it.

all the new people on here just want to know more about something they are interested in,
and without sr every new rider would still be riding new As.

Sr is doing alot of good for the newer riders, and some of the older more experienced riders are getting angry with not having what they want.
-so you could ask andrew to make a new forum section on sr for the older riders as opposed to the regular new riders.
-or anyone else could just make a new forum and talk about things in your life there if coming on here is just too much for you.

anyways, the older riders are the ones who need to man the fuck up in this case and realise its helping everyone.

i really don't see why everyone is annoyed by little/new kids posting stuff.. if you see a noobish thread title that you've seen 300 times before, then just dont click on it. or, click on it, answer it, and end the thread. no reason to get angry over kids asking questions. ill admit, ive gotten prety pissed at like 2 or 3 terribly annoying noobs on here, but those were with good reason. but most of the kids on here are just like us when we started here on this site. so cut them some slack. its not like they're gonna know every single thread and where to find everything within their first few days on the site. there's like a million different threads. basically, if you give the newcomers a break, and answer what they're questioning instead of yelling at them, they'll become knowledgeable, and won't have t ask stupid questions.

Who cares about this forum anyway? Im not antiSR or anything but we've already got beyond the point when one forum equaled the scooter society. Most serious riders, including the big names don't post at all, or visit it from time to time. As for myself, I mainly browse vids and check if there's something interesting in other sections.
This website, however, is now perfectly up to his name, the scooter RESOURCE. Here you can learn the basics, as what scooter to get, how to bolt your folding mech, get trick tips, show your videos and watch others, get recognized and learn about other riders. It's so good for the society and the sport that there's a website which can provide all of this to any rider.

-browse topics, look at whats appealing

-ignore everything else as long as it doesn't like it needs moderation
