Your pretty much fucked, depends on where and how you welded it, but ya it was not a good idea.

no you cant weld alliminium to steel. its like trying to melt plastic to wood. just does not work. god knows why h.though.

a.either get the slots in the headset filled with the welder thing, then re drilled

b. eat cheese

or c. buy another scooter.

i just got asked if i wanted to have steel welded to aluminum by my uncle who is making me more bars i said "you can do that" he says "yeah but its hard"

I read up on it, and it's pretty much not worth your trouble. Reinforce it with aluminum and save yourself the trouble.

you could use steel or aluminum, almost no difference in this case. if you use steel you would have to just bolt it because although possible, welding steel and aluminum is just not worth what it. id go with aluminum. and how are you planning to reinforce it, like where would the reinforcements go and what would they look like?
 
well i dont know, what's the best way to reinforce my folding mech
i thought maybe it would be welded on either side of the mech, so it's like an extra layer but plz tell me your thoughts on how to reinfroce it
