Assuming i can get the Felony off my record, or get it overlooked...Im going to be enlisting into the Military. The Coast Guard to be exact. I know a lot of people on here have strong thoughts about The War and Military, and i got a lot of good friends on here, and i jes wanted to get a few peoples opinions on this decision id be making....If you dont really know me to well, you dont really need to post here unless you want to.

Wow Steven. Thats a big decision. It's you're life and you are free to do whatever you want with it. If joining the Coast Guard is what you want to do, then do it. If you do you'll be in my prayers, and I'm sure they prayers of many others as well. Whatever choice you make I'll be behind you 100%.

One of my best buddies just left for the AirForce yesterday. He kind of joined as a last resort because he didn't really have much direction in life at the moment and he figured that by the time he got out he would ave things figured out plus all the benefits are pretty much unbeatable if you have nothing else going on. They will pay $36,000 for college once he finishes his contract so he plans on going back to school for something later once he figures things out. All I can say is know it is exactly what you want to do because once you sign those papers that is it for 4 years unless you plan to make a career out of it. Either way, serving our country is a very respectable career and anyone who disagrees is either not from America or unAmerican and in both cases their opinions don't really matter.

Thanks all three of you. As Andrew said, im in this for most of the benefits...unlike a lot of you, im wasnt smart in school, and in life in general, made a lot of bad choices. In a way maybe this will be redemption for things ive done. Not to mention they will pay for College after i get out...which will be when im around 25 years old. I plan to stick around in Cali for the Holiday Season, and leave sometime after that if this is something im going to do. Thanks again for your opinions guys, and more are welcome.

thats more like a life guard. I dont know much about you Steven but joining the coastguard is a honarable job like Andrew said but whether or not you join everything will work out in the end so think hard about this before you go and do it but good luck in whichever you pick
