im not a drug addict but ill still do hooka or drink a little on certain occasions

I'm 16, go to parties and shit, but no drinks/drugs.
I've never really bothered, i don't see the point..

straightxedge goes along with listening to hxc. so unless you listen to edge bands, your just a kid who doesnt drink or take anything.
and being edge means you dont drink you dont do drugs and you either dont have sex or you dont have promiscuous sex. you might also be a vegan.

pretty much its like being christian without the god part,
you go to shows and are part of the scene and violence is okay.

IM NOT EDGE but
i dont drink,
i dont smoke,
i dont take any drugs including most medications prescribed to me,
no promiscuous sex,
and i dont eat dairy red meat or processed food.

I know Dylan is. And for myself, I don't drink, it's stupid. And I have smoked before but I'm done with that cause I'm trying to get a job soon.

disclaimer: i mean to insult no one in particular with this, just my thoughts:


"straight edge" is the gayest fucking thing i have ever heard of.

if you don't want to drink/smoke/have sex then that's your own decision, and i totally respect that, it's often not an easy thing to do. if you want to get drug free tattooed across your chest, i respect that. but i seriously hate kids that feel the need to bring up how edge they are any chance they get. no one gives a shit if you don't get wasted on the weekend.


but on the other side of that, i also hate kids that feel the need to go around telling everyone how wasted they got on the weekend. just like no one cares if you don't drink, no one cares if you do drink. it's really not a big deal and i hate that everyone thinks it is. it's a personal lifestyle choice, the world doesn't need to know about it.

ive done bad things...but i really dont bother anymore...maybe drink once in a whileeeee, oh and sex is good haha

I guess that making up a name like Straight Edge and trying to feel cool about it is an attempt to compensate the lack of fun that comes from drinking/drugs/casual sex, haha.

Edit: I guess it's actually cool for them, it's a pretty healthy lifestyle and I guess that the ones that are SxE now would laugh at people like me in 20 years, when they'll be like still young, able to scooter and have a normal life while Im gonna be a drunkard sleeping in the gutter.

agreed.
if drinking in this country werent so taboo it wouldnt matter.

people took the song way to hxc (haha get it?). it was just saying that he doesnt need to do shit to have fun or to cope, so fuck it.
where sex and alcohol came in i dont know.
