Style vs Skill

He has no style, but he wins every single competition, and makes tons of money and travels the world. You decide which is more important. :O

If your going to ride bowls or street you have to have style and steeze or just look like everyone else in the world who scooters and can do what you do. Park on the other hand is easier to get away with not having that much style and just doing skill based tricks.

Style IMO
For example. Kota -
Skill = Yes
Style= Retarded pig hanging off a close line.

Bit harsh yes but even if you can't do complex tricks is doesn't matter as long as you look good doing them. Being able to pull gnarly tricks with style is where all scooter riders should aim.

after you have learned basic stuff, you should start thinking about style instantly.

tricks<style

Dom is right, you can't "work" on style, style comes from being comfortable on your scooter, and spending a lot of time riding your scooter. But trying to progress, as opposed to naturally progressing, is going to give you a much worse style, if you are constantly trying new tricks, and never perfecting the ones you have already learned, you will most likely have bad style, and your tricks will probably be sketchy. Its the difference between riding for fun, and trying new tricks when you are inspired to, and riding to be good, and trying new tricks, just to be able to claim them. Take your pick.

You don't work on style haha. Style comes naturally when you gain skill.

Bullshit. I have the style of old beef jerky and i've got loads of tricks.
Haha!

Parrish. I have most of my tricks dialled and consistent. I work mainly on consistency. Yet I still have an ugly style. Not that I mind.

I just think people should stop caring about style or tricks and just go back to having fun.

Rob, you've got style. It doesn't necessarily mean it's good style, but you have style. Like Parrish said, the more time you spend on your scooter, the more your style will grow.

Steeze = style + ease
I tend to find the tricks that have the most style are the simple, flowy tricks. These can b done anywhere, it's just stuff everyone has done from the beginning - look at Alex Steadman: 180s, huge fake sliders and fakie mannys are not too difficult with a bit of practice but take a lot of time to perfect. I would rather watch a Steadman or McKeenn video than a max peters or rwilly any day.

Super queer.
skill with steeze.

edit - coops right. how you ride is your style. itll get better. some are just born with steeze. to many force style and it makes it even worse.

If you have really good style, you don't need many tricks.

If you have tons and tons of tricks, your style isn't necessarily as important.

Solid tricks with good style is probably the best, but being far off on either end can make your riding really unique, which is also good to see every now and then.

I think everyone has their own style, it also depends on the body shape.
I don't know but people like Brendan Smith just looked more stylish than say... The old Twan if you compare the old Twan to the way he looks now the style is so much better.
