lol its not its made from odi grip material but i think it has some kind of foam stuff on the inside. I just thought it was cool looks like a big grip lol

It isn't foam. Who ever said foam was a good insulating material anyways? Last time I checked, weather stripping, which keeps your house, car, etc insulated, is made of rubber.

Rubber is like the easiest thing to air seal too.
