Nah dude it still works with a single thru slot too

IM guessing the problem you had with it expanding was caused from a headset cap that was tapered funny underneath like most that come with headsets.
That is why i left the top of the shims flat. cause not many ppl have legit caps yet.
By spring time we should have our alum shim with its own style aluminum cap. Then itll all be good shite foreal!

Oh and noiceeee shirts!

how long is a flexfender generally supposed to last with average-moderate use?

ive had two of them snap on me while pressing down on the brake after like 3 weeks to a month of riding them.

We don't have a general time period that these brakes will last. It all comes down to the rider. For me, I've been riding the same FlexFender for almost 2 months now. Ya it's hella bent and mangled but it sill works like a champ! haha.

It's important to note that you don't want the FlexFender to flex too much when you push down on it. That will make them snap real easy. I would say you want to have about 3mm of space between your flexfender and the wheel. That is the stock height. And if it starts to rub just bend it up a tad and should be good. Now if you pull too hard then ya your going to snap it.

Now it's been almost what about 7 months that FlexFenders have been out and we have not seen more then a few FlexFender Replacements while we have been selling them.

I know that they are not the best brake in the world. But for a rider like myself they are perfect. Flow riding is key with this brake. Street riding... Not so much! haha.
